Merry Christmas Everyone !!!!

Dear Family, CODS and FODs,

Merry Merry Christmas to all. I hope you are all happy and healthy and surrounded by loved ones enjoying my favorite day of the year. Wish we had a little snow to make it look like Christmas but it's pretty cold out so that helps. The boys are here and my sister is coming for dinner so it will be pretty quiet at theTeklits house today. Jess and the kids will be up on Thursday. I can't wait to see them. Joey heads up to N.Y. to see baby Isabelle on Friday. Then we will see her for the christening in Jan.
I am especially thankful to be home today. I started with high fevers again on Sunday nite (104.5). I knew from Fridays blood work that my white count was dangerously low so I called down to Penn and Dr. Porter answered the phone and told me to come rite down with my bags packed and would probably need to be admitted. So we headed down with me crying the whole time and not feeling to well either. Thank God for those wonderful nurses who were kind and supportive and got me smiling again. We were there by 9:00 am and it was pretty quiet at the clinic, so they put me in a private room, while i waited to see the lab results. Thankfully my white count has gone up from the neupogen shots. So Dr. Porter came over and said the safest way to go would be to get admitted and be given iv anitbiotics, but he could give me a dose in the clinic and send me home on antibiotics with the promise of coming back if things got any worse. He bumped up the steroids and gave me fluids so then i opted for choice number two. I spiked high fevers again last night and now have those "leukemia bumps". So i feel fairly safe that this is not an infection just the leukemia rearing its ugly head. I will start round number two of Dacogen the first week of January, and hopefully after round two and the increase of steroids will hold the leukemia at bay for a little while. SO I AM SO GLAD TO BE HOME WITH MY FAMILY AND NOT IN THE HOSPITAL!!! I prayed last night for all the patients that are in the hospital, and wished they could be home with their families.
So i hope everyone enjoys their day with their loved ones, and a good sleep tonight after the fatigue of the holidays has set in. Thank you so much for all of the christmas cards, i so enjoyed the pictures of everyones families. Thank you too for keeping up with the blog, its so encouraging to read the posts and hear about everyones busy lives. I send you all my love and gratitude that im so blessed to have freinds like you
Love, Debbie

p.s. This is joey and i want to wish eveyone a merry christmas. I hope everyone has a great day with their families. And also thank you so much for all the cards, blogs just everything you all do for my mom. She is so lucky to have all of you supporting her and cheering her on so thank you all it means the world to her and merry christmas

Debbie, Joe, Everyone,
Merry Christmas from not so sunny Florida. (It's still warm enough to go barefoot and wear shorts, and after all these years it still ain't right.
We spent Christmas Eve at my mom's house. It was also her 81st birthday. Both brothers and both sisters were there along with their spouses and all four (yes only four) grandchildren. We must be getting older. The place wasn't trashed and the police hadn't been called there by the time we left.
Santa brought my 13 year old daughter an Ipod and left me with the task of figuring out how to put things in it. I've only emptied all that I got in there twice today but I think I'm getting the hang of it. I just added eight songs without deleting the other 35 this time. Go me.
For the first time in nine years I'm on vacation between Christmas and New Years. We thought about just getting into the car and driving to where there was snow on the ground because my kids have never been in it. But it looks like it's a two day drive to get there so we're rethinking the rest of our week off together.
I see I'm rambling again.
So Teklits'(or Teckliti): Looks like your Christmas is a blast. May God continue to bless you and all who love you. My prayers are for a Happy, HEALTHY and Prosperous New Year to you.
Oh yeah, Don't be firing no firearms in the air midnight New Years Eve. It's dangerous and here in Orange County, Illegal.
Love and (intermittent) Sunshine
Bob

..Merry Christmas to all of you...sorry about those bumps and fever,,but will the new dose of chemo get rid of them?
we started or christmas at 6am,,tim loves it so..in fact,he not only bought all the gifts, but wrapped them and put them under the tree this year,so it was fun to see everything.. the boys went out together and bought me some tasteful plates from mikasa "only 20 dollars mom, from 100, its going out of buisness!" but i do love them, of course, they could have gotten me tupperware plates and i would feel the same...
Its a beautiful sunny day here,,not too christmasy.. patrick just left to feed some horses with his friend taylor, mark is playing with new gifts, tim is keeping the fire going (even though its 60 outside) and watching a Monk marathon!
I will pick up the intensity of the prayers, and wish all of you teks a great rest of the week.. give all those grandbabies big hugs.. and we'll all be checking to see if you are doing better.. much love to all of you..mdf

Merry Christmas!
It's nice to hear from you Debbie and Joey. I am sorry to hear the Leukemia is showing itself again. I guess it forgot it was Christmas! Hopefully the chemo in January will help. I'm just getting home from my sisters in Freehold. We had a wonderful time both there and at my house on Christmas Eve. I hope my clothes fit tomorrow. I've had too much good food and drink. My nephew mixed up a new martini today called Amaretto Kiss. Very tasty although it reminded me of an Alabama slammer from my college days.
Well, off to bed for me. I'm beat. Thanks for posting today. It's always good to hear from you.
Merry Christmas.

Dear Debbie,
Merry Christmas,
so glad to know you are home to enjoy with your family. I came to NY to be with my best friend Pauline and all my Irish family & friends. Pauline's daughter asked me to be godmother to her new born son Shane, so I was tickled pink (and crying happy tears). Today I drive back to Maryland and pick up Sam to celebrate Christmas with him.... Peace at last for Christmas after such a tramatic and sad break up. I do feel blessed.

Enjoy the grandkids later in the week, hope your fevers stay at bay.

Lots and lots of love, Visitor Alison.

Merry christmas. So glad you were home for the holidays. Have been checking every day or so to make sure you were home for the holidays. Glad they were able to give you medicine and help you be home to be with family. Keep those fevers down and enjoy the little ones on Thursday and keep well to be able to get up to the christening in January.
We had a good Christmas - had friends over Christmas Eve and Gary's family over for Christmas Day - very busy and exhausting, but it is always great to have family around.

Stay well, and know you are in my prayers. Love Shelly

Sending my holiday well wishes to you and yours. I think about you often.I thank you and your family for keeping us informed.
I have a new job now and it is a bear working 40 hours again! I have to get used to only 1 day off a week to get all the chores done! The Willistons are all fine up here in Lehigh Valley. We have a new puppy addition who is keeping us busy and keeping the house messy. Currently she is munching on a t-rex toy she dug out from some remote corner of the basement. She is a stinker, but you just can't get mad at her 'cause she has the cutest little face....
Happy New Year. I hope 2008 brings a wealth of good health and happiness to you and your family.
I love ya!!

Debbie and Teklits gang....
HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you all have a joyous time together bringing in the New Year with time to reflect on all the good things that you have shared through the years. While it is good to look forward it can be so rewarding to look back at all that has been good, all that has meant so much, all the times that were meaningful and worthwhile.

God bless the Teklits family, especially you Debbie, for all of your strenght and courage... you have taught us all such a lesson in life.

Love,
Patty

Deb, how are you? did you get a chance to visit with your grandchildren?how is joe doing? still running?
well, we were out of power for 27 hours.. huge storm, california style, with 50 mph winds, which knocked down trees.. which knocked out the power..
at first it was kind of fun doing the "little house on the prairie " act.. but we are too spoiled with electricity, stoves, internet, phones. etc.. i read danielle steele by lantern for as long as i could, the boys looked at pictures on patrick's computer as long as his battery lasted, tim kept the fire going.. finally around 1pm on sat it came back!
Patrick left back to college on sat. it was hard to see him go again..we had such a nice time with him..its fun to see him grow up.he's such a nice guy.. and funny..
mark starts baseball for the high school tomorrow..he's very excited for it to start..
i have to go back to work again tomorrow, and i have been trying to remember the names of the 9 kids in the class... hmmmm, is it a sign of menopause, senility or just " out of sight, out of mind"
well i hope and pray this new chemo regime keeps you feeling well enough to have some fun... i'll keep the prayers going.mdf

Dear Debbie,
I check in all the time, and think of you so much. Over Christmas I got some photos presented to me of the "booze cruise" last year where we all were holding lighters and singing this little light of mine...for you Debbie....folks asked how you were doing.. people you never met.
Sooo many people are touched by you and this blog...I don't think you will ever realise the incredible influence you have on this world..... but perhaps some day.... the internet will show u!

Jessica, I don't know how you originally came up with the idea of this blog, and what your influence was....but it has grown and grown. Today, one of my very bestest and dearest friends also named Alison... has needed us all praying, sending good wishes to her son Fisher.... she sent me a link to her "blogsite" http://www.fishersforehead.blogspot.com/ when I saw it I knew..... the circle of FODs CODs... and live out loud for Lynne... lol... continues and the strength of all our love helps…..

Debbie I can’t wait any longer!!! I have to visit Tennis Way.... Jessica call me!
Lots of love, live out loud,.
Visitor Alison

So, once again I'm hoping "no news is good news" and everyone is so busy enjoying life that you haven't had a chance to post. I truely hope that is the case. With the weather so nice the last few days I'm longing for summer and the beach. My work starts to get busy at the end of the week and then I'll work clear up until I go on vacation. We are going to Mexico on Feb.3 for 7 nights. So, the same old story, diet until I go. Eat and drink like a pig and start dieting all over again when I get back! I'm getting bored with this routine! Anyhow, I'm looking forward to the sun.
I'm wishing the rest of the winter could be as nice as this week has been so far. I hope all of the family is well. I'm looking forward to seeing new pictures of Izzy soon.
Take care,
Betty
