Mom Admitted to HUP

Just a quick update to let you know mom met with Dr. Porter today and he decided to admit her to the hospital to administer some big gun antibiotics and keep her isolated. Mom's arms have been bothering her and they'd like to do a biopsy of one of the leukemia bumps and an ultrasound of her left shoulder. Since her WBC has been <1 and her ANC <500, it is best for her to be in the hospital and have access to the strong pain killers and antibiotics. We are hopeful after a few days rest Mom will be home again. We will keep you posted.

Love,

Jess

..What is going on with her shoulder now also? Im kind of glad they have you in the hospital, as much as you detest it.. hopefully they can wipe out whatever those bumps are and bring the counts back up before you pick up something!! Im also hoping and praying that its just a short visit...
finally cooled down here yesterday, but it looks like it m ight be near 90 next week..Everyone is settling into their new schedule.. Mark is now a sophomore and Patrick seems to like his classes .. we still miss him like crazy around here, but i have to keep telling myself he's only a little over 4 hrs away.... Mark calls him everyday after his baseball practice so we get kind of updated without us calling him..
Deb. again, im sorry you had to be readmitted, i think about you all the time... love..mdf

Hi Debbie,
I'm sorry to hear you're in pain. Hopefully your hospital visit will be a short one. I was on the fence about going to Ocean City this weekend but you being in the hospital made up my mind. I'm staying home. Last weekend I thought about you when I was in Sarasota. If you're up to it Joe should take you there for a short trip. The Gulf water was as calm as could be and was 80+degrees. I felt like it could cure whatever ails ya! It's hard to believe you're not feeling well. You looked so good last time I saw you. Hang in there.

Hi, Jess. Want to try to send some wedding photos (5) to mom (and you) of Jen's wedding at ND on 9/8. It was wonderful and they return from Hawaii on Sunday to DC. I sure hope the antibiotics work for mom and she gets to feeling better. You are all troopers and I am so proud of you and continue to pray every day for all of you. Love to you all. Cheryl (Crone)

Deb, Deb, Debbie...

You are really making me hurt. I can't imagine what your arm must feel like and compartment syndrome potential I do not like that.

Sounds like you are going to see all your "chicks" this weekend and that will be good for your soul.

We have been immersed in football this fall. Colin and Brendan's teams are doing really well. I will send Jessie a link to an article that appeared in today's St. Louis Post Dispatch. Colin was pretty excited to see his name in there. Being on the offensive line it seems he doesn't get as much recognition as the Defensive line.

Mom (Aunt Angie) and I are headed to get groceries today. She will be 81 next week. Hard to believe. I can remember our Nonnie reaching such milestones. How times flies!

Mere is dying that she is missing Colin and Bee's game. She is going to come home next Friday to see us play cross town rival Washington High. It should be interesting. They are 2 classes above us in size but we are all heart.

So odd to see the blog today as John Straatmann our young seminarian from Washington emailed me yesterday to ask about you. He couldn't find his link to your blog. I will resend it to him with a request to start the prayer tree at Kenrick Glennon Seminary in St. Louis. Amazing how your story is getting out there.

Miss you to pieces. The kids send thier love too! Dave of course will be curious to see what is going on with your arm.

Keep us posted...Love to all....COD Eileen
