Outta There!!

Dear Fods,

They put the pic line in yesterday afternoon and put me in line for discharge. Just had to wait for radiology to read the x-ray to insure that the line was properly placed -- few hours -- and then we were ready to go. However, they next decided to run in a bag of platelets to tide me over so we left HUP around 7:00 PM.

On the way home I had a hankering for pizza and we stopped and got a pepperoni pizza that I was inhaling while we dropped the new scripts off at CVS. Had another rough night last night with the coughing and sweats but at least it was in my own bed. Today we are waiting for Penn Home Infusion to deliver the supplies and for me to get a dose of vanco to help control the cellulitis. It looks much better than before the vanco.

Quiet rainy day here -- Joe took off today to help me ease back in and to get trained by Penn Home Infusion on line care, etc. The pic line is in my left arm and I cannot care for it one handed.

Thanks for all of your cards, blogs and prayers.

Deb sends her love to all.

Fabulous! So glad you are home.

Mere and Aunt Angie are going out for dinner tonight as Dave and I have meetings at the high school and the boys are late with football. Poor kid...no one home to cook. I took care of her yesterday knowing we had to go to the high school tonight. It will be great for her to have dinner with Mom. She's gonna miss her too!

Ask your visiting nurse for an extension for your PICC line. They have 8-12 inch long extension tubes you can connect to the end of your line. That way your left hand and right hand can both reach it. You REALLY don't want to be dependent on someone just to flush your lines everyday. That's what I did anyway (Diagnosed with AML at HUP on 12/8/05... been in remission for 1.5 years now... I kept a blog, too:http://judyreport.blogspot.com)

Well, i've been back at work, Mark started his sophomore year, and Patrick is just trying to waste time till it's his time to go to cal poly.. he went up to humbolt state univ. this weekend to visit a friend.. its kinf of a place where all the grateful deadhead fans end up,,,said its interesting.. but is ready to leave....
The classroom i work in is 5 girls, 3 boys so far , which is odd, we usually have more boys.. it's mainly a speech and language class this year, with only one autistic child in it..so, it should be a much easier class than last years..cute kids also.., although at this point, i still can't figure out what most of them are saying.. it'll come..
im wating for urgent care to open up.. i have an ingrown toenail that i of course, tried to remedy myself.. needless to say, im pretty sure its now infected , so i need to go have a pro take care of it..yuk...
i hope you are feeling so much better.. have they started the chemo up yet, or have you been able to chow down? I hope and pray you are feeling better.. i read some of judy's blog.. pretty funny stuff.. you should read it , if you haven't already..
well, i'll talk to you later.. take care, we are thinking about you out west.. mdf.

why is it, the only time you bump your toe, is when it is so infected and sore, and purple in color with an ingrown toe nail ?

Debbie and Joe:

Just got back from Baltimore...spent part of yesterday with those darling babies at the Baltimore Aquarium. As you know doubt know.

They are so sweet. Christian is a typical first born...mindful and inquisitive, while Emma is so darn cute. Stubborn and "I will do it myself" mentality, and she even let me pick her up. I think that may be a little suprising.

Jessie looks great and says she is getting better with her bone issues. That is good news.

Baltimore was fun! I love being with this friend of mine from Dallas. She sent her last of 5 off to college last week, while I sent #1 of 3. She was doing fine. Her's is a boy and he pledged a fraternity and she is worrying like crazy about that.

Spoke with Aunt Angie and as you might expect wanted a full report on Jessie and the kids. I took a picture so she could see how big they look.

We start Colin's Junior year of football tomorrow night with a game against the neighbooring town. He is so excited. Dave just told me that Brendan was voted Captain of the Freshman squad...I told him next he'll have a girl on his arm..."Oh mother!"

Hope you are having some better days. The Khouri's still had the tail end of the runny noses yesterday.

Hope you all get together this weekend. Believe it or not there were two women from OCNJ at the stitch conference. They were darling. So many of them are crabby and old.

Better run and get dinner on the table.

Love to you and the rest of the clan. COD Eileen
