Happy Halloween

Hello Everyone,

Well i am going to try this again and see if my hands are a little more steady. Thank you for bearing with me. I am moving very slowly but i think making progress. Still have not heard from PT (insurance issues) but i,m hoping that will help my back. I am walking around the culdesac with the boys. Michael in the am and joey in the afternoon. I,m wobbley and sometimes need an arm but doin better every day. Appetite is ok. I'm not craving food yet. Not even a hot fudge sundae May Day. Speaking of cravings may day and Mussie when i hear your puppy stories i think you are both nuts to have pups again. they are so cute but soooo much trouble.. Although i do mis our simmie. Our neighbors have the best golden retriever in the world. The whole neighborhood loves her and feeds her. well at least Joe and the mailman. Sometimes i think if we had an electric fence maybe i would get another dog. and i like big dogs too. their were many days when the kids were teens that the dog was the only happy one to see me,so i guess i understand the need. Good luck to you both with the training thing. Mussie have a great time in Cal. Sounds like Kate misses you like crazy. Bethie, sounds like you had a good weekend. Are you feelinf better? Pattty , glad business is so good. Probobly will just keep gettting busier till xmas. I'm surprised you want to chop your hair. I guess a change would be nice but you have got such great hair and isn't it easier to just put it back for work? Short and curly would be cute too. Bob Caldarero, i was in shock!!!It must have been 30 yrs. since we've seen you. I'm glad to hear your doing well and playing in a church band. Boy did we all settle down! It was really good to hear from you. i know Eien was tickled too. We all still get together to play cards.(The Cota's Cambells, and Wileys. Its really something to see our kids grown and having kkids of their own. YIKES!!! we are getting old. Well anyway its good to hear from all of you. I did make progress this week. Instead of going down to HUP 3 times a week, this week we will only have to go down one time on Friday. My numbers today were stable, so let's hope that this is a new trend.

Hope this finds all of you and your families well. Thanks again for the blogs and the cards and well wishes and meals. You are the best!

Love Debbie

Yahoo hot fudge sunday Deb, Seems like we are brunswick stew headed in the right donuts direction. Please stop french fries and take stock in milkshakes and burgers in all of the plusses. Are subliminal mack and manko's pizza messages illegal?

Good morning Debbie, How nice it is to read about your progress. it sounds like you are on the road to recovery. So,since you are not taking the drugs for the transplant that must mean you will be able to go out in the sun. That's a plus. You'll be able to enjoy the beach afterall next year.
Well, the baby stopped by last night dressed like a little lion and then Art and I spent the rest of the evening taking turns answering the door for trick or treaters. Halloween is not our favorite holiday! Well, take care and keep getting stronger.

Hello Debbie,
I know our favorite visitiing nurse has been passing on my best wishes to you. We saw each other yesterday morning and then I believe she was going to visit you. She's the best!
On Nov. 17th I'm scheduled to get my Hickman removed, so she won't need to visit me any more. We're sad about that, but of course it means that I'm moving on down the road.

I smiled when you said hot fudge sundaes don't appeal. When I was in Seattle and had just come home from the hospital, I LOVED hot fudge sundaes; not too much else had appeal, but I looked forward to that ice cream every day.

Your appetite will come back. I'm gaining weight, my appetite is totally normal, too normal, everything appeals now...too much Halloween candy!
You're doing great, Deb. All that walking. I hated walking, but it did make a difference. My energy slowly improved. It all takes time, seems like too much time, but when I wake up every morning and take a breath,I say, "Thank you God."
And, like you, I thank the wonderful friends and family who surrounded me with their love and care and hope. Never give up hope.
Praying for you, Linda M

Hey Deb and Joe!
Artie here. :) I can feel the progress you are making coming from the computer through your words. I'm thrilled you are feeling a little better. God knows you've earned it. Keep moving forward. As I'm sure you know, for each day you are in bed, it takes three days of rehab to get back on your feet. You do the math! :) "To everything there is a season and a time for evey purpose under Heaven." By the by, ther must be a new litter of Great Danes available some place. Just say the word! :) We love you! God Bless.

.. that blog sounded so much more like you.. talking to everyone, asking them questions, then answering them.. i loved it.. well, glad halloween is over.. still have alot of candy.. i didin't get a call from patrick's school yesterday..was a little worried when i heard he wore a christimas gift wrapped box around his waist with a sign that said "santa came early!" anyways...
I got thru walking in the parade at the school i work( i have to hold the kids hands) with dressed as a green m& m, a 50 yo woman does not look " cute" like that!
Mark helped me hand out candy..and everytime someone around his age would show up he would tell them to go away, that they were too old.. i'll go check in a minute to see if we got egged..
The good thing about having this german shepherd puppy is that i think in about 6 more months i might be getting that much needed new carpet!
Hope your day is stronger again today.. maybe do the cul-de-sac,then turn the corner, and go one or two more houses, then come back home..you'll be doing the whole block in no time! love, mdf

Dear Deb,

So nice to read your blog. You are sounding so much stronger. You are moving in the right direction and that is all that matters. Slow as she goes works.
My vote for a dog is an SPCA Dog. Trixie was 4 years old, house broken, portable, and wonderful from the day I brought her home.
Halloween is her night. She was out in on the front porch greeting every trick or treater with her puppy eyes. She thinks this night is all about her. Usually she sits up on the chair and waits for love and affection, this year she was right off my lap and getting right in the thick of things for lots of petting. She was not afraid of any costume. Lots of kids and visits with the neighbors and a little B&B to top off the night for me.
Love, hugs, and prayers as always.

Debbie & Joe,
We were pleased to see Debbie's ability to communicate with her many friends. It is a good indication of the progress that she is making, & let's hope that your appetite comes back soon so you can enjoy your hot fudge sundae. On Monday we drove back home to place flowers on the graves of our parents for All Saints Day. The weather was perfect & many of the local folks were doing the same at the cemetery. Joe, thanks for the call, & it was a delight hearing from you. Debbie, keep up the good work, & we hope that all continues to go well for you. Love, Mom & Dad

Debbie,

I am so flattered by your complimentary words I can barely "speak". I had no idea you felt this way about me. I just love being your favorite golden retriever and I especially love the treats that Joe and the mailman give me...but how is a girl to keep her figure? I look forward to seeing you on your walks around the cul de sac and I hope you will be able to come over to my house to pet me real soon. But until then, I will be content laying on the driveway, watching for your garage door to go up and waiting for those treats. Hope you are feeling better.

Love....Casey

Hi Deb,

So glad that you're feeling much better! You sound so much stronger. We had a great Halloween last night. Alex was here and he was dressed as Spiderman (with muscles)! He was the cutest. Hope you have a great night and that you just keep getting stronger every day. You're always in our thoughts and prayers.

Love,
Jeanne

Deb,
Meals? Are you in need of meals?
I can do that. Not very well, but I can do that. Although you should know that when my entire family gets together at Thanksgiving, I am responsible for the soda and wine and anything thing else that I would like to bring that is in a package. Enough said.

You sound so much better. I miss you and would love to help you out in any way I can. I am available for walking duty, cleaning duty, hand holding duty, whatever. . .
Call me!

I am so glad that you only had to go down to the hospital once this week - that is good news. I can also drive down there if you ever need someone for that.

The kids always ask about you when they call. Richard sends his love too.
That's about it.
BIG HUG AND KISS,
Susan

Dear Mrs. Teklitz,
We're so happy to learn that you're back on the road to recovery after the agonizing and painful ordeal that you've been through. However, we were absolutely sure that with the love and help from your wonderful family and friends, and your faith in God almighty, you would be back among them. Our hearty congratulations and best wishes to you and your family.

Hey Debbie:

Just checkin' in...

Football ended here last night with a defeat in the District Championship game. The team just couldn't get their rythmn going.

Now for a sports break...or a little bit of one. Bee starts BBall practice on Monday.

Mere is determined to stay up tonight until she gets her dreaded college application essay completed. Yippee...she is sick of me harping at her.

Had a visit from a Lexington friend whose Dad worked with your Uncle Matt @ Dixie Cup in Easton. They were also Lexington transplant. Her grandparents lived behind Aunt Rosie. Small world. She was here for an overnight in route to a family reunion.

I am heading down to the Grade School after I finish to help with decorations for the grade school auction....yippee my last.

Gotta get a little done here before I head out. Hope you are having betters days and able to amble in the crisp fall air.

Love you lots...COD Eileen

Dear Debbie,
Dixie cups.. you know someone connected with Dixie cups?! lol. The small world that it is, when I first came to America and had family visit they loved the tiny dixie cups in bathrooms so as a result I brought them home as gifts.. trouble is, they still don't sell them in Ireland so ever time I visit I need to bring Dixie cups with me! I'm sure customs wonders if I'm selling them for profit! Another small world coinky dink... the Scranton marching band are playing at my son's high school this month Mo!!
and I spent last week looking up how my Son could get into Penn State.. lol....

Debbie, hoping you are still getting better every day... lots of love,
Visitor Alison.

Hi Debbie,
I was so happy to see that you posted yourself! It sounds like you are beginning to feel a little better. I am thrilled to hear that. We just came home from OC we have not been down since September. We cleaned the screens, windows and put the porch funiture away. It was nice to be there.... it is always relaxing to me. Sure do miss the summer! We are active with another adoption agency that is based out of California. We were able to request a girl so hopefully we will hear some good news in the coming months (before we get any more gray hair). Mom and dad say Hello! They were down the shore this weekend too. They went out to dinner with two couples from our block. Mom and Dad said to tell
you that they have been thinking about you. Well I hope with every day you begin to feel a little better....it sure sounds like you are moving in that direction.
Love,
Chuck,Donna and Wyatt
