Debbie and family. I am thankful that you had a nice Thanksgiving and had an opportunity to see the kids and grandkids. That must be wonderful! I know I will experience that some day, but first I need to get through the next year or so to get Jen and Shelly married off! My prayers continue to be with you all. Love, Cheryl (Crone)

Hi Debbie,
I feel the need to share some Irish blessings with you... here are the words to a song my Daddy used to sing....

"There's a tear in your eye,
And I'm wondering why,
For it never should be there at all.
With such pow'r in your smile,
Sure a stone you'd beguile,
So there's never a teardrop should fall.
When your sweet lilting laughter's
Like some fairy song,
And your eyes twinkle bright as can be;
You should laugh all the while
And all other times smile,
And now, smile a smile for me.

When Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, 'tis like the morn in Spring.
In the lilt of Irish laughter
You can hear the angels sing.
When Irish hearts are happy,
All the world seems bright and gay.
And when Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, they steal your heart away.

For your smile is a part
Of the love in your heart,
And it makes even sunshine more bright.
Like the linnet's sweet song,
Crooning all the day long,
Comes your laughter and light.
For the springtime of life
Is the sweetest of all
There is ne'er a real care or regret;
And while springtime is ours
Throughout all of youth's hours,
Let us smile each chance we get.

When Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, 'tis like the morn in Spring.
In the lilt of Irish laughter
You can hear the angels sing.
When Irish hearts are happy,
All the world seems bright and gay.
And when Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, they steal your heart away."

Looking forward to singing with you on Valentines Day...

lots of love Alison.

Dear Debbie,
So glad you're feeling better and had such a wonderful Thanksgiving. I'm still praying everyday for you though I'm convinced God has heard and you will have a full recovery. God has blessed you with a loving family and good friends.
Our day was also special as we were able to bring Bird's Mom home.
We're all starting to get really excited as we have only one month till our first grand baby comes. Jeff and Missy have already named her Jordyn Mackenzie.
Take care and continue to rest up. You're immune system will rally.
Love to all,
Pam and Family

Debbie:

It's Sunday December 3rd, Colin's 16th birthday! Can you believe it? He and Dave just ran to China King as that was his pick for dinner. He is still practicing driving. We should have him liscensed in a couple of weeks. He got his permit a little late and you have to have it for 6 months.

We have been socked in here. Ice and snow and bitter temperatures. They say we will have more of this later in the month. The kids missed two days of school. We haven't had mail delivery since Wednesday...I guess they can't get out of the vehicle if the snow is in front of the mailbox. I had Dave out with the tractor trying to get it cleared. What a mess! Mere is off at her office Christmas party. Or should I say the pharmacy Christmas party. Dave had his last night. He is the life of the party. Danced with all his girls in the office. I now know why they schedule him off call when the Christmas party is scheduled.

Hope your are continuing to get your strength back. Lots of love...COD Eileen

PS VA...I too didn't know the words, only the chorus...my dad would sing while he swept the floor after dinner or did the dishes. Really!

My dear Deb,

I'm sorry I've been away from the blog so long - I just read all the postings! I'm glad you were home at Thanksgiving surrounded by your beautiful family, especially the grandchildren!
Things have finally settled down since Margo's wedding. Paul and I flew out to San Diego (business for me, golf for Paul) at the end of Oct for a little R&R - it was great and I had a weekend down the shore with the Vegas girls which was so much fun. Margo and Jesse took a belated honeymoon to St. Martin's over the Thanksgiving week and had a wonderful time.
I think I'm going to be planning another wedding! Nicole and Mike are looking at diamond rings! Mike is asking her what type of ring she likes - he even said something to Karen on Thanksgiving. Margo and I are already coming up with some ideas on where and when. We'll just have to see what happens there!
Anyway, you and Joe are always in our thoughts every day. Stay strong!
Love you,
Paul and Barb

Good Monday Morning Deb.

Hope all is well, it has been a while. It looks like you have had a rough go of it, but I am glad that you are back in the neighborhood. Hope you had some good times with the grandkids. Thanksgiving at the Rumsey household was nice. My sister made it up a bit early this year which was nice. No so rushed. We all had time to just sit and relax and visit prior to dinner which did turn out well if I say so. Scott is 15 and now towers over his mother. He has taken to patting her on the head. Enjoy your family and take care of yourself.
Love, hugs, and prayers,
jean

Hi Debbie,
Sounds like you're feeling better. I'm trying to get in the holiday spirit but so far it just isn't happening. We decided to go to a black tie dinner dance last Saturday. I had about 36 hours notice and no dress. Actually, I have several for the thinner Betty but this bigger Betty didn't have a thing. I ended up at King of Prussia and finally found a nice one. Yesterday Art took us out to brunch for my birthday and we just got back from dinner, again for my birthday. I don't need to eat for a week. I am sending a picture of my grandson to Jess. Maybe she can send it to you. He's really getting a cute personality. He babbles all the time(ok Joe,if you are reading this I know what comment you just made. Yes he is very much like his grandmother!)
I hope you're having a good week. I look forward to your next post.
Betty

Hi Deb...

All is well here. Not much to report. Just gearing up for mid-terms, working on decorating the tree and the Christmas cards.

Getting ready to head down to the grade school/parish to help out at our scrip program. It's time for the holiday frenzy. Still looking for a coordinator but everyone realizes it would be better as a paid position. I have been very clear to point our that Bee is graduating and so am I.

Just wondering how you have been feeling?

Have a great week. Love COD Eileen

Hi Debbie,
Hope that you are feeling better with each day that passes. Sorry I have not posted in a while but time has been flying. You are always in my thouhgts and prayers.
We took a trip to New Hampshire over the weekend with mom and dad to visit my mom's sister. It was so much fun just too short. We did get there on Thursday and left on Sunday. We try to go there at least once a year. We drove mom and dad because dad does not like to do that drive himself anymore.
Wyatt is getting very excited for Christmas and of course the vacation from school. He just got his report card last week and received honors. He was so proud and we were too. Well tell everyone we were asking for them and take care of yourself.

Love,
Donna, Chuck and Wyatt from OC

Hi Debbie:

Got your Christmas card. Hope to talk before or after Christmas. We are all wondering how you are doing????

Mere and Colin are studying for finals. In fact Colin and I just returned from a Spanish mass in St. Louis. Part of his Spanish II final. It was fun. Those folks know how to worship...constant chaos, kids running around and everyone hugs everyone. Well...almost everyone...us gringos aren't quite that loose.

I have never been so disorganized before Christmas. Aunt Angie and I haven't made any cookies. Shame on us. With work and the darn scrip program (not to mention my family) I have been chasing my tail. I should have shopped harder with Mom back in November.

Hopefully I will get it all done this week.

Miss you so much...Lots of love...COD Eileen

Dear Debbie, FODs et al.. my Christmas poem this year I send with love to all of you...

“All I want for Christmas”….

When I was little a song I heard sung,
t’was a little ditty by a very little one…
She sang of what she wanted, it was simple and sweet,
For her wish was so endearing, she wanted “her two front teeth”.*

It was lovely and charming, funny and true,
I have such wishes still ….don’t you?
A moment from the past that is no longer here,
A simple toy, a melody, a moment of cheer.

Christmas ignites all the good from the past,
Scent, music, laughter, memories come back with a blast.
Every year for a moment we escape to the North Pole,
And listen intently for the “Jolly ole soul”

This Christmas with new found spirit, more than ever before,
I wish you good fortune, health, and happiness galore
I wish you laughter, amongst your tears,
I wish you sheer joy through-out the years.

I wish you new memories, the big and the small,
But as I sign off I wish you most of all…

I wish that….
….. you bask in the memories of Christmas past,
….. you live in this Christmas and make the moments last
…you feel the love of your loved ones, where ever they may be,
…. you know for sure, just how important you are to me….

Lots & lots of love,

Alison 2006

*Reference “All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth”

here are the words of the song...

Every body Pauses and stares at me
These two teeth are gone as you can see
I don't know just who to blame for this catastrophe!
But my one wish on Christmas Eve is as plain as it can be!

All I want for Christmas
is my two front teeth,
my two front teeth,
see my two front teeth!

Gee, if I could only
have my two front teeth,
then I could wish you
"Merry Christmas."
It seems so long since I could say,
"Sister Susie sitting on a thistle!"
Gosh oh gee, how happy I'd be,
if I could only whistle (thhhh, thhhh)

All I want for Christmas
is my two front teeth,
my two front teeth,
see my two front teeth.

Gee, if I could only
have my two front teeth,
then I could wish you
"Merry Christmas!"

Dear Debbie and Family,
Hope you had a very Merry Christmas. Miss hearing from you but I figure no news is good news. Hoping you're getting stronger and healthier every day.
We had a very blessed Christmas, our first grandbaby was born on Christmas morning. She is the most beautiful present we could ask for. Jeff and Missy are such good parents, its amazing. They are very natural at everything they do with her. They named her Jordyn Mackenzie.
We wish you and very Happy New Year.
God Bless.

Dearest Debbie, I saw Bev this morning at the hospital. She looked fabulous. She had pictures of her granddaughter. That child is beautiful. She also gave me a "report" about you. I tuned out her scolding, that you are doing too much, and not resting .... and focused in on how well you are doing, holding your numbers, and finally taken antibiotics. (FOD , our Deb has a URI or some sort of bug, that is taking its good ol' time to leave.)
It was a good report.
My best to you and the family. Looking forward to meeting and greeting everyone some day at your FOD party.
With love and best wishes for a healthy happy new year. Ruthie McGinnis

Hi Debbie,
I'm happy to hear you are doing ok. We are winding down from the busy holiday. Art and I are hoping Adam and Jill will want us to babysit on New Year's Eve so we can use that as an excuse to get out of our dinner plans! We booked a cruise for the beginning of Feb. We leave out of NY. I can't wait. Let's pray for a healthy and happy New Year for all of us.
Happy New Year!

Hi Debbie,
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family. We had a great Christmas. Santa was very good to Wyatt this year. He got
a safe for his room (for his valuables). Too funny! He did get a football signed by Westbrook. He said that he will keep it in his new safe.
I wanted to wish you, Joe and your family a Happy New Year! You are always in my prayers! Take care!

Hey Deb and the clan:

Did you get your fill of football yesterday? Brendan was thrilled with the Penn State victory. He also keeps a close eye on WVA which made an incredible comeback.

Quiet New Year here. Colin is driving! YIKES! I am a nervous wreck. Not sure why but I think it is more the loss of control and not being needed as he now takes my car and drives off to weightlifting.

Headed to the big city today...St. Louis for the gift card spending day for the boys. Responsible Mere is working. Back to school Wednesday for Bee and the others on Thursday. Which means I head back. It has been nice not having all the extra stuff going on.

Hope you had a wonderful time in DC and are resting once again at home.

Take care. Love COD Eileen

Hello Deb and Joe,
Happy New Year from the Chadwicks. :) Deb we hope and pray the New Year finds you happy and healthier. Our Holidays were wonderful. Full of all the family and good friends. Penn State won :) "WE ARE PENN STATE" Ryan flew to Tampa and called the play by play over the internet for his last time as a Penn State student. He will surely miss it. Life must go on however, and May will find our youngest graduating from Penn State and moving on to parts unknown. Erin will be moving back to PA at the end of the month. Colin is considering going for his PhD in higher education at Virginia Tech starting the end of this year.Cathy and I are doing well and working hard. We hosted everyone for the Holidays and have lots of leftovers. I'll be eating ham and bean soup and turkey noodle soup for the next month or so. It is one step up from bread and water. :) Well have to run now, God Bless and stay in touch.

Love,
Artie and Cathy

P.S. Go ole Notre Dame!!!
