I'm doin ok so far. Getting Methotrexate now to supress my immune system further and to help the stem cells "engraft" in my marrow. i have a little lip tingeling and numbness. i picture the stem cells like a little pac man chasing around looking for a place to "set up housekeeping" and banging into my lipsthinking they have found a nice spot. Does that makesense. Anyway, hope you all sleep well and have good dreams. i'll write in the am. love you guys....Debbie

Hi Deb- So sorry I have not blogged, But I think of you every day. Hope you stay h/a free, migraines are just miserable. You sound pretty good, you still amaze me that you keep a great sense of humor despite all that has faced you. Everyone at MSC sends their love!!! Your spot is safe, just waiting for your return. The kitchen could use a little bleaching!!!
We moved Morgan to Law school on Sunday, 1 day down, 3 years to go! Also Miss Nic found a wedding gown last week, she looks like a princess, just beautiful. Of course I cried so she knew it was the right one when i was reduced to tears. I can't wait.
Well sleep tight my friend and dream of those sweet grandbabies. Take care!!!
Love, Holly

My dearest darling-

Just checking in after dinner and a long trip across the long state of PA. The girls watched movies and slept. I drove. Mr. Hal had a lovely dinner for us when we arrived(stuffed shells) and now I'm just getting ready to hobble upstairs and gobble an advil. Mo - I feel your shoulder pain tonight.

So glad to hear you sounding so chipper, honey and also glad to hear that your cells are engrafting. I can understand why they are gravitating to your lips -my husband always said you were a good kisser!!! (Don't worry FOD's it was all in good kissing fun! I think.... hah-hah)

Sleep well, my friend. Off to read the previous comments and connect the dots in your post. Until then I'll be seeing you in my dreams, lounging about Lake Como at sunset, sipping a crisp, cold Pinot Grigio and wearing your fave white eyelet sundress. Our main man Joe is at your side, (George Clooney is on the other, of course.) Handsome, young waiters are fluttering about to satisfy your every whim. I'm talking SWEET dreams here!

Talk to you tomorrow, sweetie pie.
Love you, K

Hey Deb:

Hope the Ms. Pac Men in your lips are settling down. Nothing like feeling like your lips are as engorged as that character Mrs. Simpson. Best case scenerio Angeline Jolie maybe.

I'm in the home stretch for back to school. Mere will head up the freshmen 1st day with fun activites and Colin will return Thursday. Bee and I will be together from now till the 29th. That will be fun. Our Honduran girls go back on Sunday. Friday they will cook frijoles for us and Saturday we will have a "Despedida" Farewell party for them at a local hispanic restaurant. This is customary to all they do when we are down there on the brigade. There won't be a band though.

This morning as I walked out to clean up the patio...Dave came out to inform me that one of the Longhorn calves was on the other side of the fence. So we started the day with a round up...not very eventful as she really wanted to be back with her mother. Fun all the same.

Headed to work and home to run kids to football and Mayra to get her hair permed. Something she did on her last visit that she liked.

Better get my shower and get onto work. Will think about you all day long! Rest and relax cuz 2007 will be your year to catch up on 05-06.

Love ya Deb...COD Eileen

Debbie you sound good. The pac men have to get to the important parts of your body to do the best work. Hmmmmm. Lips - ice cream. See the connection. Keep Joe, the stepladder, wallpapering & bleaching the countertops out of the equation!!!

Love you!

Good morning Debbie,
Hope this finds you feeling good with nice tingling all over from your new pac men friends. Hi Tootsie.. I realise the FODs and CODS (now what is a COD cousin of Debbie?!) don't know much about me, but guess what.. I know even less about all of you.. I don't want to hog Debbie's blog with my life story so I came up with a game we can play that might be amusing to Debbie. FOD Question of the Day. The first one to blog in a day can come up with the question!!! Although I'm not the first to blog today here is todays question

How Do you Know Debbie?

I sat in the exact same seat as Debbie within minutes of her making a post on this blog when she was a patient in Rhoades 6. We must have passed each other on the corridor but neither of us knew how our lives were going to cross. I sat at the computer and for reasons unknown to me hit the back button on the internet menu bar and came across this blog. I instantly was captivated by Debbies courage, humor, and spirit. I was mighty intrigged by the amusing group of FODs with some strange life stories being posted for Debbies review! I saved the site address and said a quick Hail Mary for Debbie.. I've been checking in ever since.

Now FODS it's over to you.. How Do You Know Debbie (and I can imagine the stories will be fun, fun, fun!)

Debbie, hope you have a wonderful day. Lots of Love, Visitor Alison.

I would think, and no offense, but hanging out at your lips would not be a very relaxing place for these new cells to hang out at..
Janet, you crack me up .. can't say the word breast..yet you want to have some extreme makeover done on them .. ha.. im with you .. if they say loose weight.. then im outof there..
Before i forget.. Happy Birthday to Mike!!Didn't realize he was six when Patrick was born! Hope they both have a great day!!
Alison.. amazing how a girl from ireland can figure out stuff on the computer before me, and i lived where it all started(palo alto), oh. and by the way..i met deb at rehab.. long story..will tell you while she and i are having our virgin cosmos.(JK). ttyl.. deb.. hope your day is still doing well..mdf

...Alison...i will take the plunge first.. i first met debbie while working in the ICU with her and Mo...(by the way, her name is really maureen..shes very irish also).Deb is one of the best nurses i ever saw(besides Mo) She was always late getting off from work cause she was either still cleaning up a pt. or wiping down the counters where we all sat! I swear.. between waiting for Debbie and Mo to finish their shift, it's a wonder we ever had time to go out for mozzarella stixs after work...She also really likes to "shake it, shake it, shake it like a polaroid picture.....".. great dancer and sometimes we would all go out dancing after work together..Loved when she would make her choc. chip cookies and bring them into work.. No matter how full you feel, debbie will whip up some kind of meal to feed you , so don't even bother saying your full,, if you have no where to sleep.. she will make a bed for you..she really is one of the most generous people on this earth..and to have a good sense of humor with it..well...as you can tell by all her blog friends..she is very well loved.! Don't know if you've met Joe her husband yet.. but make sure you don't have a full bladder when you talk with him, cause he is so witty that you might loose some control!
I moved away from the east coast back to my original west coast site, so i haven't been around deb or her friends as much..but as you can tell, it doesn't matter. they welcome you and are such a warm group of friends...(although don't get her friend Kim mad).
So, there is my real story, and im sticking to it.. know we'll hear some other great stories.. hey deb.. doesn't this sort of break up the boredom.. good idea Alison..mdf.
