Day 2: 13:45 hours

Dear Fod's,

Deb is resting quietly now. She had a rough night and, not surprisingly, the CAT scan never did take place on the third shift. Joey and I waited until around 02:00 and pushed off for home. Debbie had enough narcs on board to put an elephant to sleep and she was "zonked" when we left. They finally did the scan on day shift and all looks OK -- except that the headache persists.

When I arrived, Debbie was talking to her nurse and sitting in her chair. We did some new sheets and a clean comforter and that was enough work to knock her out again. Apparently, they gave her compazine, a nausea drug, but it has helped tame the headache. Nothing worse than a migrane. She is sleeping peacefully now and I have my brief case with me.

Nobody seems quite sure why Deb has the headaches -- most likely it is related to the preservatives in the stem cells. As more develops, we will keep you up to date.

Deb sends her love to all.

Debbie & Joe,
Let's hope that this headache is a temporary "glitch" & that Compazine does the job of minimizing or eliminating it. We laud Joe & Joey for staying until 2:00 AM waiting for the CAT Scan to occur. We hope that Debbie can continue to rest peacefully tonight, & that tomorrow is another day we can put into the "Good Day" bag. Rest assured that you remain in our thoughts & prayers. Love, Mom & Dad

Hey Deb:

I am hoping the headache is your only side effect. Wouldn't that be great!....

Ran to Columbia, MO today to meet M.A. and Fabiola halfway for an exchange from the family who entertained them in Kansas City. Not a problem as we hit an outlet mall on the return trip. The girls bought more jeans. Nothing like wearing jeans in a tropical climate but I think they wear them to keep from getting bit all the time. (and yes the tighter the better)...

Bee had to serve the Life Teen mass this evening so I am alone with the girls as the rest Dave, Colin, Mere and Bee needed to get to mass.

Bee and Dave had a great float trip. I am assuming you East Coast folks know what that is. You know....on a small river in a canoe or large inflatable raft or even an inner tube. Needless to say fun was had by all. Do they do that on the Bushkill?

Does Joe do hospital corners when he helps with the sheets? I bet it is nice to change those sheets often. I love fresh sheets. If only I could do it every day...but then I have to wash them as well.

Take care...COD Eileen

Dear Deb,

I've just spent some time catching up on the blog as you fight this next battle! It sure ain't easy is it? Thanks to your wonderful husband and kids for keeping us posted on your status.

I've been in wedding mode, two months and counting until the big day. I sent you the invite to Margo's shower and her wedding because I wanted you to know that we're thinking about you but truthfully, I'm selfish and love you and want you to be a part of this special time.

You are one strong woman Deb! We are all praying and rooting for you.

Love to you all,
Barb and Paul

I prayed in church tonight so hard I thought I would explode, Deb! Church has become such an important place to me -- like it was for my mom, grandma Mary! I have in so many ways become my mother -- this is just one more. I was in South Bend for the weekend with no computer, so was anxious to get home to catch up on your progress. I am so thankful for all that God has given you and your family. I cannot wait until you feel like your old self. I am continuing to gain so much from my one of my first best friends -- how blessed I have been to see your strength and continue to learn so much from you. I miss you all and thank you for keeping us updated. Love from Indy, Cheryl, Terry and girls
