Dear Debbie,

You are amazing! You have no idea how this blog site brightens up my day, your courage, humor and sheer determination inspire me. I can only imagine how it helps all those who know you so well and miss seeing you. Isolation.. yikes here it comes.. but now you will have your laptop and the world at your finger tips. We will all be in the room with you. Oh no, the sight just flashed through my head.. a room full of FOD's in sports bras and Jackie O dresses (OK not the men, but come to think of it that is an even funnier sight). Everyone chanting different Mantras... cosmos being made by the dozen and who is that cheerleader in the corner?!~ lol.

Let's see, relieve boredom, expand your world outside the room.. mmh.. let me take you on a trip to Ireland...
It's one of my favorite spots.. Dalkey.. the home of Maeve Binchey and Bono and a childhood haunt of mine. A unique little village outside the Capital city, by the Irish sea. It has a tiny harbor where fishermen still launch their row boats in the wee hours of the morning. Sitting on a great big rock by the seashore, you watch them untie their boats and slip into the Irish sea. Your heart is in rhythm to the beat of the gentle waves as the sun rises slowly behind Dalkey Island with its mystical fort ruins of yester year. Dublin awakes to the hustle of its new found European zest while the souls of generations guide the fishermen to their catch. A gentle fog hangs over Dalkey hill like a discarded blanket. soon to be lifted to allow the day to unfold...

aah.. now that is relaxing right?!

Hoping that you have a wonderful day. Lots and lots of love, your visitor Alison.

Good Morning Deb! :)
August 9th, a date which will live in infamy. Thirty-one years of travail and heavy laden. Our Anniversary! :) It was a very good party though. (as I remember) :) Three kids and a whole lot of debt later, I'm still mesmorized by the twinkle in Cathy's eyes when I give her flowers, or sneak up from behind and give her a squeeze. :) It is a great life Deb, You continue to fight for every moment God grants you. Keep those blogs and postings coming.
We love you!!! :)

Deb.. so it starts huh,, loved reading Alison's mental vision..my mother in law is from ireland.. county carey.. she came out here to visit us and after her trip she annonced that her next trip would be to her grave!!Not sure what the heck we did with her... oh well..
And im amazed how cathy still lets artie "squeeze her" from the back or front..i would be too self concious of what a handful my husband would get..
DEb, you are so much fun to read.. it sounds just like you,,and of course you worry about everyone else..you really are a special person..let God know that every night!
Hey, isn't Mikey's birtday next week.. Patrick and he are both on the 15th, right, and Joey and I have the same bday..Can;'t believe my Patrick will be 17 in a week..
Fod question.. are your kids into myspace.com?It's been popular here for awhile, just wondered if it is there also.. Plus..any parents of seniors find that discussing college options is like pulling teeth! and you really can't blame them.. they have really no idea about different places. or studies...any suggestions on this...
Well, need to take mark in for a sports physical, then ot mervyns for their sale..
Hope your room smells and looks clean after 3 hrs!Have they already wiped down the laptop..you'll need that.. and deb..open an email so we can send you pictures , i have your old one,, n ot sure if it is stil what you use.. ttyl..love..mdf..still haven't figured out how to get the blue title..

Deb,
I'm gonna try to get a quick word in.
First, a big thank you to Joey for the encouraging words about "life with David". I nned all the support I can get until he returns to school.

David and I did go look for a suit last night at King of Prussia. Boy, has anyone been shopping lately for mens suits - holy $%*&! David wants a GOOD suit so we visited Bloomingdale, Brooks Brothers and Hugo Boss. The suits were beautiful but the price - Oy vay! I was given strict instructions as to my behavior in the stores. I was not allowed to comment until we left the store and I couldn't give my opinion unless asked. And I shouldn't be pushing for him to buy anything - we may come home empty handed. Is this kid killing my spirit or what?
Well Deb, David looked soooooooo handsome in those expensive suits. I wanted buy every single one. He was very picky about things - worse than a girl. And we did come home empty handed. Does anyone know where we can buy a Hugo Boss suit at a HUGE discount?

Can you post your room number and land line phone number? I missed a few days in the beginning of your stay so I didn't get it. Isn't this great to "talk" with each other every day? Is there anything you don't have there that you want?

Oops, gotta go. I'll be back when I have more time. There is a very loud conversation going on right outside my office. A conversation between two women in their eigthies. It's getting louder by the second - gotta go!
Think soothing thoughts.
BIG HUG.
Susan

Isolation...are they crazy...don't they realize that could give you more side effects than the drugs and stem cells put together! Having the computer will hopefully help the time pass.

I survived the pool party. It was super. I was a little nervous but all the kids did well and actually mingled. Even Fabiola got in the groove and played volleyball and chatted with Bee's classmates.

I think I may have some quiet time in the next few hours so I will run to Aunt Angies. Bee, Colin and Dave are at Bee's football practice and Mere, Mayra and Fabi are headed to the movies. Ahhhh!

Attitude is everything Debbie! Keep on keeping on and you will overcome. I am so very proud of you. Keep typing daily...I love it!

Lots of love. COD Eileen

Debbie & Joe,
We hope that you are coping as good as can be with the isolation & that it ends sooner than you anticipate. The lap top should be a "god-send" at this time. We had another pleasant day today as Mom was able to do her "birthday thing" at Peddler's Village. Mikie should be glad to hear that Shane found a very well fitting PSU (one fit) hat that he's slready planning to wear for the Lions game vs the Wolverines. He also "polished off" an 8 oz Filet w/o any difficulty & some vanilla ice cream topped with extra whipped cream filled him to the top. We don't anticipate him having very many, if any, snacks this evening. We hope that the time goes by rapidly for you, Love, Mom & Dad

Hi Deb,
Hope you've had a good day since your morning post. Mom just left today. We've been busy, even without the MIA teenagers.
Dylan started full pads Mon., and is all bruised up, poor kid (all 60 lbs. of him).
Billy called from the beach to tell me he is bored and was wondering if I would consider coming down to get him....uh, NO?!
Besides, Jimmy is having fun.
Danielle had a physical today. The Dr. told her she would probably be 5'1"-5'2" like me. She says, "you mean I'm going to be short my WHOLE life??" I said, "Dani, look at me, what kind of gene pool did you think you were working with?"
She said the worst part was having to pee in a cup.
This morning when she woke up, she was a little mopey. I said, come on , lets just go do it, I'll help you. She says, "it's not that, it's the tooth fairy". (I'm thinking, shit, I thought I did that, did I have some kind of a perimenopausal lapse?). I said, "didn't she come?" She says, "yeah, but she didn't answer any of my questions, and didn't take the picture I drew that took me at least an hour to color!" Good grief....does the guilt ever end??

Better go before Mo and MDF start busting me on my wordy message. Although, if pressed, I could probably beat the "elastic waist, polyester pants" off of them. (and sports bras too). With words, I mean....
Looking forward to checking in tomorrow for the new installments to "As the FOD's World Turns".
Sleep well tonight in your sanitized room. Always thinking of you. XOXO

Love you, Kim
