We Finally Made It !!!

Dear Fod's,

This will be a short post tonight. We are still at the hospital and Debbie is going through the admission process. Yes, that is right! We waited all day to be admitted -- thank God that we did the waiting at home. By 4:00 PM I had given up hope that we would be admitted today, when Heather called my cell phone to ask where we were! I exclaimed, in Lansdale waiting for the call from Admissions! Of course, we had called admissions throughout the day and were told that there were no beds. When we got here, Nurse Patty told us that they had Deb's bed ready @ 7:00 AM!!! This place is beyond description.

Debbie is in room 6018 on Rhoades 6 -- yes with all of her buddies, and they are being great to her. Everyone is stopping by to say hello and to catch up.

This room assignment will be short term, until a bed opens up on Rhoades 7 which is the transplant floor. We will set Debbie up here temporarily until she moves into her new quarters. For this stay, Debbie will have her own laptop with a Verizon Broadband card so that she should be able to stay connected with everyone. Hopefully, she will get the hang of the IM as well as the blog and email. We will set the laptop up tomorrow.

Deb sends her love to all.

Dear Deb:
We are continuing to pray for a super successful treatment for you!
I'll be checking into your blog daily! I'm so glad the donor came through for you! God does work miracles everyday!

Our summer is rapidly drawing to a close...Dan starts back to Clemson on August 9 and Andrew heads back to HS on August 16. We are in the flurry of buying supplies and back to school sneakers and what not. Back to our usual routine schedules.

Our love and prayers are with you as you start the home stretch!

Debbie & Joe,
We're just amazed to read again about the "foul-up" concerning the administrative staff of the UofP. It certainly doesn't add to our confidence about the Hospital, & hopefull these "front office" inabilties are not carried over to it's vaunted medical staff. We're glad to read that you're back with your "buddies at Rhoades 6. Setting up the lap top is an excellent concept as it will allow you to remain in contact with the outside world once the walls begin "closing in" on you. You are always in our thoughts & prayers. Love Mom & Dad

Sure the pennys from heaven keep coming so I KNOW you will be just fine. Until we meet... lots of love Alison Visitor to Rhoades 6

Alison, I too read Lynne's blog site and was moved by what I read. She surely was a wonderful person.
And Susan, don't worry about talking like an old geezer... just don't roll your knee high nylons down to your ankles!

Debbie - have a good day and I'll be down to visit with my friend Moore Time.

Hi Chiz -

Hope this finds you well, lovey. Been thinking of you like crazy. Tried to post here and over at Allison's blog and got knocked offline 6 times last night! I finally gave up. Hope your adventures with your new laptop and broadband card are going more smoothly!

Happy to hear that Ms. Mo and Dr Bob are going to be stopping by today (hi you two!) Not happy to hear about that fever business!!!Hope you have it under control and are easing into your treatment.

Yesterday was Senior Picture day for Krissy, this was on the heels of a marathon mall session getting ready for the senior pictures! You can tell I'm an amateur when it comes to this kind of thing. Lots of little fiascoes - forgetting the shoes, grease on the white blouse, etc. Nothing major though and Krissy looked beautiful. I think she was happy with the way the whole thing went and that makes me happy. BTW -Krissy and Pauli both send their love and want you to know that they are thinking of you.

Off to see Bow today. She's still not well and I hope to try and cheer her up a little.

Hope you are being cheered by all your friends at Rhoades! I be trying to get a hold of you this afternoon to check in. Love you.

K
