Good Morning Everyone

Hello Everyone,

So glad to be able to post this am. Again looks like a beautiful day. wish i was at the beach with all the family. Seeing Christian and Emma would do me a world ofgood. So, i'm feeling ok today. Just tired and a bad lower backache. I need my tub and 2 advil. Would someone slip me some? They are not allowed due to lowering platelets, although my counts are still very good. They are suppose to crash this week. Also my hair is suppose to fallout this week so we are going to beat it to the punch and shave it off today. You know that never bothered me. Very liberating. And now with the extra pounds and curves i won't be mistaken for a boy.
It was wonderful to have Jessie here yesterday. She is the best company and so kind and patient. The "Transplant" was certainly not like a blood transfusion. They pushed 9 bags of cold cells all between 55 and 65 c's. I guess i reacted to the preservative, but for about 10 min. i really felt like i was having a heartattack and going into pulmonary edema. I developed a wet cough and my pulse ox dropped to 83. it was the most frightening experience because they kept telling me to take a deep breath and i couldn't because my chest was too tight. thankfully, the feeling subsided after the stem cells were infused. They gave me iv benedryl and lots of steroids anticipating my allergic reactions. so i slepta short while and then felt better as the evening wore on. I do have the "corn" smell today. I can't smell it but the docs and nurses say its pretty strong. Apparantly, its from the preservative and will last a few days. I wished it smelled like popcorn but its not nearly as pleasent. So Thank you, thankyou for all the prayers and well wishes yesterday. I felt them all and was surprisingly calm all day. I've come a long way thanks to you guys and a special few who have coached me along in the faith dept. (you know who you are).
So now we just wait for the dogdays of engraftment to begin. I'm ready to catch the train as my friend suzanne says and yes i did bring my sneakers. Have a great day everyone and i'll post tomorrow. i love you guys. ........................Debbie

Oh honey, so thankful you are feeling okay today. Phew. I know that had to be a very, very, very NOT GOOD feeling. Thanks be to God and angels everywhere that you have made it through that step. Does it smell like creamed corn like Nurse Rachel (? - not sure about the name) said it would?

How about an old fashioned hot water bottle for that pain in your lower back (nether regions?) And hey, speaking of breathing - did that Kundalini tape make it in there yet? It seems to me that something like that would definitely be a big help at times like this. (I'm ordering mine today)

Hearing you talk about catching the train and wearing your sneakers made me want to start singing that old song "Love Train" Anybody remember that?

Well, I will check in later. I am multi-tasking today. Baked an angel food cake (for your belated birthday party), did laundry, wrote correspondence and now I'm taking the dog for a walk before getting out the round-up and going on weed patrol.... the Eagle lands at 10:30.

Hi Tessa!!!!
Love you. K

P.S. Did you read today's word? Your thoughts of Christian and Emma made me think of it - I think you need a couple of webcams - that way you and the kids could see each other. Put one in the hospital and one at Jess and Walid's. Heck, put one at the shore, too. That would work wouldn't it?

Dear Debbie:

Wow! Your blogging has really improved. I think your fingers are now used to the laptop keyboard. It is an adjustment.

Your renassiance is so fun to watch or in our case hear about. It is amazing what our bodies can endure. I keep thinking of you all day long. It helps that you and Joe are on our desktop screen. What a great photo! Any chance for Joe to update his glasses...Sorry buddy but I am thinking something in the rimless so the glasses aren't all you see.

Today is catch-up day. Only Mere and Colin are home. The girls M.A. and Fabiola are visiting Kansas City and some of the other Overseas brigade members. A break I needed. Dave and Brendan are on the annual Fr./Son float trip..on the Big Piney River. This is the 4th year I think. They go Friday and return tomorrow. Nothing but fun for all. Today it is overcast which will make them less fried after the float. I am sure Dave forgot a hat and I know Bee has sunscreen.

Today ends 2-a-days for Colin...actually I better get going to pick him up. They practiced from 6:50 am to 10 today to beat the heat. Mere will be working this afternoon. She is getting ready for the Fresham orientation as she is the STUCO pres. as you know. That is Wednesday. Aunt Angie and I are going to get some dinner tonight. No doubt we will talk about the corn.

Take care. Miss you bunches. COD Eileen

Good morning, Deb. So glad to see you're actually posting the blog--that's a great sign! Jessie did a great job of keeping all the FOD's up to date on your progress yesterday, we thank her so much for her input. I pray you have an easy recovery this week, Deb. You have such a positive attitude, you'll do just fine. I love you dear!

Hi Debbie,
We are all so glad to here you are feeling okay today. I can't imagine what you must have gone through. You're so lucky I'm not there, corn is a weakness of mine. I would put a little "aw shucks" spice and some parmesan cheese on and start nibbling away. Musikfest started last Friday, and I am addicted to this corn on the cob. It's something I have to get every time I'm there. I worked that Friday night for Trace Adkins and Wednesday night for Melissa Ethridge. What great concerts they put on. Melissa played straight through from 8:30pm to 11:00pm. Monday I had dinner there in honor of my 10th year of volunteering. Tuesday my friend Kathy and I went to see KC and the Sunshine band. Thursday Kathy and I went to see Kathy Mattea play at Lehigh University. Off on Friday. Back to Festplatz today and work for Heart tomorrow. This has been one crazy week. Hope to catch up on some sleep soon.

I agree with the web cam idea. I think it would be nice to be able to see the grandkids.

I will give Nan and Ro a call to tell them the latest. They ask about you and how you are feeling. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Keep up the good work.

Lots of Love,
Lisa, Shirley, Eddy, Aunt Rosie and Rosemarie

Debbie & Joe,
This has been a sad day for us going to the funeral of a great neighbor. Jeanne, Sue, Bob, & Rick were able to say hello, as well as their condolences to the Campbell family. It's been many years since they last saw each other. All of the immediate neghbors attended including the Fagan's; Earl just had a knee replacement, & they are now living in Harleysville. We hope that you're feeling better today, & each day so that you can come home soon. Kim was nice enough to explain to us the meaning of the smell of corn; until she did, we were in complete limbo on its significance. We will continue to pray for your speedy recovery & we are looking forward to seeing you again soon. Love, Mom & Dad

Mom, did you get the kids' voicemail? Christian kept holding the phone up to his sister's ear. We had to watch closely to make sure he didn't wack her with it. Emma would not stop giggling - her daddy kept clapping her hands against his face and she just thought that was so funny. The ride home was not bad. The house was neat when I got home, the wash was done, and the kids were happy - but excited to see me!
Sitting here with Christian now doing the nightly ritual with me on the laptop and him in the bed. Right now he's alternating between calling me 'mommy' and 'jessica.' I can't even correct him when he says jessica because it's really cute the way he says it.

I never finished telling you that Walid set up a web cam to our computer downstairs, we just need to set it up to upload to his website. Maybe we can finish that tomorrow.

Gotta complete the nightly ritual with 'ca ca go'. It never fails that he has to go after laying in bed for 30 minutes. Hope you got your flexril and are resting peacefully. Love you.

Hi Chiz-

Just a quick note to check in and say hey and tell you I am thinking of you. Spent a nice day here and hope you did the same there. I see you in my mind's eye resting comfortably and well. Mr. Hal arrived home today and we're grilling on the 'Cue. I take off tomorrow AM to go pick up Kris and her friend, Tonya, for a quick visit in NJ. We'll come back Monday and be raring to go to Rice's on Tuesday. I think we'll go to NYC on Wednesday. Take the train and do the tourist thing. Tonya has to work on Thursday - so it will be an early AM run back to OH. I truly will have more miles on me this summer than a Greyhound Bus. I will be checking in from the road tomorrow, lovey. Sending prayers and vibes and all that kind of stuff your way until then, honey. Sleep well, my friend.

Love you - K

P.S. Here's a link to the MItchell SD Corn Palace for your enjoyment until then. Check it out: CORN PALACE

Debbie:

So good to see the Easton crowd on the blog. Looks like all is well. Funny Lisa should mention the webcam. A buddy of mine mentioned it to me just earlier today. So much for my bright idea. I figure you don't have to get on it you don't feel up to it.

Just home from church and dinner with Aunt Angie...it was good.

Rest up...Love to all...COD Eileen
