Good Saturday Morning !!!

Hello Everyone,

Hope this finds you and your families well. Looks a little cloudy out there today. Is it less humid ? Before i forget (which happens to me all the time now-The dr. will say she is cured of leukemia but we're sorry to tell you she has Alzhiemers), Janet Russell you are so darn funny and witty. I remember that fun nite in the limo and the play and i do think we badgered you. Poor thing, i'm sorry. You were so committed to getting married to the rite man and having children, and here you are with the perfect husband, beautiful kids, a gorgeous home and nice friends. What more could you ask for /Ask any of us old ladies and we all would say we married too young. But when you are young and in love thats all that matters.
Patty i loved St. Martin also. what a beautiful and relaxing place. Speaking of which, naming one of our favorite days other then wedding day and our kids birth day(which of course were miraculous)one of my favorite days was in St. Martin with my husband. We had a nice day at the beach and took a snooze to the sounds of a rain shower. We got up and were having a drink at the bar overlooking the sea and there was the brightest rainbow i have ever seen. It was so romantic and magical. Really it sounds corny (not smells just sounds...HaHa), but simple family outings were always a favorite. The kids at Disney World, seeing the excitement on thier faces our first nite of vacation on the boardwalk. Also we used to ski and i loved having us all together on the mountain, especially at Lake Placid. The kids begged me to go to the top of the mountain (where they had all been the whole week.I never got off the baby slopes there..very tough mountain to ski) so on the last day i relented and took the chair lift to the top. It was really a breathtaking view with all of us together, for about two minutes until they all skied down the moutain leaving me alone. I was petrified, certain i would die and so angry with all of them cause they promised me they would help me down. Well with sheer determination i made my way down the mountain, just so I could ground everyone for leaving me alone.

So to answer Mary Day's question I am doing fine, I had a little fever today, but it dropped down. My hemoglobin is 7.4 , so that means two units of blood and TYLENOL. HOORAY!!! I am not sleeping at night, and the food is terrible. Joe brings me frozen food from home though. I am getting friendlier with nurses, they are all very nice. There are a couple special ones even put up my idle chatter. So two and half weeks in and maybe only two more to go. Please keep the prayers coming, I am convinced that is what is keeping me going.

Have a great day, I love you all!
Debbie

Dear Deb and Joe;
Wow! This is your life I love it.
A very interesting dialogue, but you forgot your Great Aunt
Margaret and her boyfriend taking
all four of you kids every summer
to the shore.
I think it was Point Pleasent I'm not sure of the beach name, for 2 weeks, wasn't that grand, when you guys were little about 4 and up.
As far as travels I've been to Italy twice. In 1973 and 2002
a very romantic place.
I loved Rome the most . I couldn't get over the wealth there. Sorrento is another gorgous
setting. Milan is really uppity
up. Thats why I bought my leather purse in Rome.
Another place I ventured in is
Hawai, Went to 5 islands there
that is Heaven .
You sound good I know you will hang in there, for all of us COD'S
FOD'S AND FAMILY.
My love to you and your famiy
BIG HUGS
Your Aunt Angie

debbbbie, i relished your blog today. in my mind i see the family picture that you have from the mountaintop. wow, i think that maybe we move too fast and don't sit and really examine all the good places we have been. i like to think i do but your blog today really gives me huge pause. no rewind, just a pause! i was talking to one of your handsome buddies today and you should be reading a blog from him soon. i can't wait to talk to you, i look forward to seeing you as soon as it's "prudent". is it really possible that you are at the 50 yd. line? i am so proud of you and not one bit surprised that you are keeping the pecker up. back to the mountaintop....were you talking to yourself? cursing like a sailor? "those geedee kids, holy hannah" xoxoxoxoxo. km

Debbie:

Just a minute or two before we leave for Mayra and Fabiola's Despedida Party at a local mexican restaurant.

26 total in attendance. Most of them from the medical brigade teams.

It's one of those happy/sad days as I send them back to Honduras reluctantly since I know what it is like but I also need to get back to normal here.

So happy to wake up and see you are swell today.

That Aunt Angie is soooo cute isn't she.

Visitor Alison still debating on the best moment. I will add it later.

Off to the fiesta and early to bed as the 7:20 flight with the 1 hr commute will come mighty early.

Sleep tight or just sleep at all.

Love ya. COD Eileen

Talking of Lake Placid ..My Mom was born and raised there and I was lucky enough to spend all of my summers and winter hoiday's .... all of my "growing up" years there. ..of course I was always aware that it was a wonderful place with a gazillion interasting and spectacular things to do... there is an old covered bridge down near Keene ( at the bottom of the mountain) ..we used to go picnic and climb on the rocks where the water went rushing over and down the valley ..well I guess I was climbing around with gay abandon and I slipped and went sliding down a huge rock waterfall ( not on purpose..way too scarey) ..of course I screamed my way to the bottom ,like a wild banshee, thinking I'm gonna die now, I'm gonna die now ...when i fiiinnaaly hit bottom and realized I wasn't dead ,I stood up grateful to be breathing..smiling a great smile only to see that the people looking at me were not sharing my glee, they were looking at me with horror on their faces ...I remember turning around ,thinking maybe a bear or gorilla was behind me....my Daad rushed at me with flailing arms( i thought he was going to hit me for going down the slide) ..he did start beating at me ..when I finally looked down I saw that I was covered head to toe in LEECHES!!!scream ,scream, scream, scream I'm still screaming in my brain just thinking of those horrible little blood suckers UGH UGH UGHand YUCK!!!That place is still there ,of course, and it is so beautiful and special that my memories are always wonderful..I brought J&M there as small children and the loved scurrying over the rocks and playing in the water(we did steer clear of the infamous "THE WATERFALL SLIDE")I love Lake Placid ,Debs and this is the first time I ever knew you had been...now I can share some fun mountain memories with you .Take care for now honey ...TWO more weeks PIECE of cake ...YOU CAN DO IT!!! YOU should write a book for those people that need to do it too ..you have the secret, that's for sure...LOve you lots hugs, prayers, and kisses galore XXOO:)Bev

"This is a test " was Joe trying to figure out why I couldn't send my blog to you this A.M. from Michelle's house ..it just kept saying my HTML tag was broken...I would have gotten it fixed ,but I could't see the break(neither could Mich..or Dan) Joe has been sitting here (at home..Mich sent it to his E-mail)trying to figure out why it would't go..finally he decided to read my blog through and realized where I said ugh..etc. I used an open bracket symbol without using the closing bracket to follow...this apparently "breaks" the HTML tag link...CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!I only went through all this in case anyone else happens to make this faux pas, maybe it will save you afew hours (especially if you have stubborn family members<>:)Bev

Dear Debbie,
Never got to see Cabaret.. Annapolis was like a wild town tonight too many midshipmen and the likes running around.. We drove through, then went to the outer streets and a local pub the Ram's Head and had dinner in their beer garden! I'm sitting at the kitchen table as my hubby is watching a DVD in the living room.. he finally asked me "what are you looking up" and I finally told him why I've been soo hooked on the computer in recent weeks! He wishes you well and is scratching his head at his Irish wife! not understanding yet again the full extent of having married such a crazy lady!! I'm sipping on a glass of white wine as I type so I must be careful not to "say" too much!!! lol... I laughed out loud reading mother and daughter fods inter-react lol! oh my gosh it was like waiting for next weeks episode once I realized who was related to who!!! naked beach too funny.. !

Our house has 3 female midshipmen in it tonight.. We sponsor a mid-kid.. that is we are the weekend recluse for Madeline, a wonderful young lady who attends the Navy Academy.. she takes refuge from "the yard" to our house some weekends and holidays.(and several of her friends have adopted us too). She is from Oregon so she is also over 3,000 miles away from home! It has been fascinating to learn all about the Academy through her, this year she graduates and we will have the honor of being there.. and of course, we are hosting her entire family (Grandma included) to stay at our house for the Graduation (told you any excuse for a party!!!)...that will be a good one.

Well better go snuggle with my man.. Hope you are feeling much better Debbie. You are doing so well. I am honored to know you.
Lots of love, visitor Alison.

Good morning Deb,

Just ran out to the Acme, gonna make breakfast now...we had it out the last 3 days, so I don't mind having a home cooked one for a change. Went to Dots...they were serving # 20 and I was gonna be # 43....so I said to myself they're only sticky buns, and went to the Acme and Robins. Robin looks good by the way. I was gonna tell him you said hi, but he was so harried looking(this was last night), I didn't dare.

Anyway, it's supposed to rain here today, but later I think. The sun's out now and it is hot and sticky.Hoping to get some beach time...got a little burned yesterday, so I'll take it easy today. Thank JT for the cosmo recipe...I got cranberry juice this am so I'm gonna make them tonight. Heard you had a nice pasta lunch yesterday...at least the chef said it was nice...haha. Does my heart good to know you're eating...things can't be too off if Deb can manage spaghetti, I think.

Okay honey, off to make the bacon. Looking forward to your next post. Always thinking of you.

Love, Mo

Debbie & Joe,
Still fighting intermittents on the Web; would you believe that a Comcast tech came to the house today (Sunday) to see what the problem is? I'm not sure that I agree with his recommendation to replace the cable modem. I'll chat with Bob first & get a bonefide opinion. The girls came over today with their knitting & crochet projects joinng Mom in a "threesome"! Mom also treated us today to some nicely spiced chicken paprikash & a lemon cheese pie for dessert. We better stop talking about food because you have to deal daily with the gourmet dinners of the UofP kitchen. Thank goodness for Joe's bringing "the good stuff" from home. Tomorrow we'll be going to Shane's place for Rick's birthday dinner. (PS Mom plans on bringing "raw meat" in a bag & giving it to Rick for dinner as he so hilariously described on the blog.) We hope that the few numbers in your blog can be interpreted as your doing well, & let's hope that the last 2 weeks go quickly. You're always in our thoughts & prayers. Love, Mom & Dad
