It really is chemo!!
Dear Fods,
This week was not a "walk in the park" for Debbie. She had three more days of shots and she looks like someone took a rubber hose to her legs and arms. Debbie had the first three doses of the experimental drug this week and she has been really exhausted for the past few days. We keep trying to remind her that these are very powerful drugs -- but being home, she sometimes tries to push it a bit too much. Michael is now in charge of the vacuum and mop while Joey keeps the outside of the house watered and looking nice for summer.
Deb's appetite seems to come and go as does waves of nausea which is probably related to the chemo/experimental meds. Other than getting back and forth from Penn -- she has not gone out this week. But with a wbc of <1.8>
Just one HUP trip this Wednesday to meet with the doctors as part of the study requirements. Mike should be up to the task this week. Hopefully, with no shots for a couple of weeks, she will regain some of her energy and her welts will calm down.
Debbie sends her love to all.

Oh dear. Chizzie, I am so sorry to hear of your discomfort and pain.
The bad news: It really is chemo.
The good news: Mikey and Joey doing house chores.
The really good news: It sounds like it's working on ya!
This comes to you from Denver - I tried to call a couple of times before leaving, but the machine didn't pick up and I hate to think of it ringing and ringing while you're trying to rest. Don't want to bother you, honey. Especially when you feel like crap.
We were talking about you yesterday when we were househunting. We looked in a downtown neighborhood called Bonnie Brae and it had the most adorable houses. You would have loved them! I said to Mr. Hal - wouldn't Chiz be digging this scene? He said most definitely.
Today we head out to the burbs and are looking at a place called Castle Rock. Wish us luck.
I'll be back in Jersey on Tuesday. Bentley is getting fixed on Wednesday - maybe I can see you when he's getting his surgery? I'd love to come over and keep you company. Heck, I'll even do the boys chores!
I love and miss you Chizzie.
Kris
Well, super-duh!
I blanked on the fact that you are going to HUP on Wednesday... (I bet you would like to blank it out as well.)
I have to drop Bentley off between 8:30 and 9. Could I swing over to Lansdale in time to be your chauffeur????
K
Welts all over! i hope it works well then! How much longer. then do you get a break?
Patrick just graduated from high school..tried to be strong..but started to cry the minute i saw him..but then it turned out to be another kid wearing black pants.. but i still cried.. the ceremony was nice..of course they sang a song called " are you proud of me now?"..more tears..and one of the graduates grandfather graduated with him , he couldn't do it before cause he was in a war at the time.. so the marines were there to honor him...more tears.. so you see how hard it was to be strong..Patrick did dance across the podium, and down the ramp and with all the teachers after he got his diploma.. that was funny,, but then another song..and more tears..ha..
then i worked the grad nite party from 10-6am.. they had so much food for those kids.. that i just had to try some(we were allowed) then at 4am a hypnotist came in and did a show,,then it was krispy kremes and bagesl, prizes , and time to go..woooo..
but get this.. you remember my friend kitzi? well, her son did a senior prank at his high school , (put a car upside down on the wooden deck) well, to make a long story shorter,,he ended up arrested, put into san jose's main jail.. she got him out on bail..but apparently he did about 3000.o0 dollars worth of damage..and that is a felonly..so now, since he is 18, he is a felon( i am hoping they lower the charges)..can you believe that!! the school is trying to set an example i guess.. at least he was allowed to take his AP finals so he doesn';t loose out on his academic scholarship to the college he is going to..
well, more later..i am continuing to pray for you also.. take care..love,,mdf
Dear Debbie,
Sending biggest cyber hugs your way... love Visitor Alison
Hi Deb,
I'm sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Hopefully you'll get your strength back soon. I look forward to reading the next report. I probably will not be in Ocean City for a couple of weeks due to work and family parties(do graduations ever end?)If you get there I hope you feel well enough to enjoy the beach. I hope to see you soon.
Betty
Ugh, so sorry to see the latest news. . . try to hang in there, we've read worse! Rest, rest , rest as much as you can...no chores for Mrs. T!
Sending our best thoughts your way,

Deb...
Can't think of anything else except that I am thinking of you all the time.
We were at HUP twice in the last two weeks, but it's calming down a bit.
You'll need another "picnic" with Kath.
The flags are flappin' for you.
Love lizzie
Hi debbie, Mike Naughton here. Thought I would leave some news where you might see it. Edie, Madalyn and I arrived home from Florida on friday June 11 from our great trip to Disney World. Madalyn loved it, and we had a great time watching her explore things and share in her excitement. The real news is that on Sunday evening Edie got really bad mid-epigastric pain that lasted into Monday evening. Bottom line is that after a 5.5 hour wait in the Emergency Room....Not up to your H U P horror waits, but pushing the patience for Roanoke, They took Edie to the OR at 0630 this morning and relieved her of her burned out Appendix. Was on the verge of rupture, but not quite. She is doing well this afternoon and wanted me to let you know about it. Our front porch is done here and I am buying a couple of comfortable rockers for you and Edie to have Tea on some morning soon. So, keep fighting, beat the odds again and again and then come sit a spell. Y'll come back now, Hear?
Mike
PS: I sent some pictures of E + Madalyn to your e-mail address if you get a chance to look
Well today is supposively your last trip to hup for awhile.. h ope the welts due calm down.. do you feel up to laying on the beach?
We have started our summer vacation here and im seeing a pattern.. patrick's friends hang out here (anywhere from 5-10) from around 3-9pm, and then they go off somewhere else! Hi Debbie:
It's the dynamic duo...Aunt Angie and COD Eileen. Just stopped in to water Mom's plants. Seems Joey and I have outside duty these days.
As we read the blog together Aunt Angie went "Awwww". She feels your pain and fatigue. We worry about you!
Got an email from Jessie that she is considering coming out to Missouri for Mere's Party. We were so excited to hear that. It will be great to see her and Walid and the kids. Aunt Angie and I will give them kisses for you.
Colin has a mini camp for football this week. Of course it is 90 degrees just to make it more miserable. They finish off with a round robin of teams at the end playing 10 downs each. Complete craziness. Looks like he will start Varsity this year.
Mere is in the final days of her last year as a JC (Junior Councilor) at Student Council camp. She is itching to get home.
Bee is bored stiff with Colin working a real job this summer as they do spend lots of time together fishing.
Dave and I are busy powerwashing and cutting the grass with scissors to get the house in shape for the July event. You will be there in spirit as I know you are really disappointed not to be able to come.
Keep eating while your stomach is good. As always thinking of you throughout the day.
Mom sends her prayers as do I.
Much love and lots of hugs....Aunt Angie and COD Eileen
Hi Debbie: That is a shame you are still going through all this discomfort. Was hoping this study wasn't going to be too hard on you. Keep your spirits up. Way to go Mike and Joey for doing housework - Tell Joe to hang in there too - I know these prayers will work.... Love Shelly
