Day 39

Deb had a difficult night sleeping again last night because of her cough. Unfortunately, the cold is now moving to the front part of the radar screen as it is continuing to get worse and is raising our concerns. We will need to watch this closely over the next few days.

Deb had a great visit today with some of her girl buddies who brought dinner from one of her favorite restaurants in Lansdale. When I called they were yucking it up and having a fine time. Deb said that I have never been to this restaurant because it has "lines" waiting for food, but I can hardly believe that to be true! But I don't recognize the name of the place. Deb's friends have visited for hours today and Deb sounds very contented and full, except for the cold.

Deb is now running a farily decent temperature +101 and we will be sleeping with three phones next to my good ear tonight. Hopefully, the meds. that Deb is on will continue to keep this menace in check. We will be watching closely and will keep you posted.

Deb sends her love to all.

Deb,

I'm so happy to hear you had a great visit with some of your buds and they brought you good stuff to eat for dinner. I wish that cold and fever would go away for you.

I love Joe's mention of having three phones near his good ear - it reminds me of Paul and his hearing problem! When the twins were first born, I was exhausted and one night Paul told me to go to bed and he would keep the babies downstairs until it was time for their midnight feeding. I thought great! So I go to bed, get some much needed sleep and just like clockwork, I woke up to hear them crying downstairs around 12:00. I prop myself up in bed, get ready for Paul to bring them up so I can feed them - I wait and wait, Margo and Nicole are screaming at this point. Finally I wonder, what is going on and walk down stairs and there they are - Paul sound asleep on the floor laying underneath the two bassinets with both girls crying. I picked the girls up, took them upstairs, fed them, put them to bed, woke up Paul and put him and myself to bed!

Hope you have a restful night.

Love to you,
Barb

Hi All - another quick update - this one later than Joe's last info, I think.

I called Debbie tonight to give her the latest Michelle Kwan news (pulled groin, out of the competition this weekend, back on the ice the 13th, petition into the USOC to be on the Olympic team, she feels like she will be ready. Her M.D., Dr. Leisure Yu feels she will be ready. AOL poll - 83% feel she should be on the team. In other skating news, Sasha Cohen is in great shape and is rearing to go for this weekend's competition. grr.)

Our dear gal's latest temp is up to 102+. A chest X-ray has been ordered for tonight but Debbie was hoping they would do it in the room (despite the less than optimal view) so she wouldn't miss the live Will and Grace and/or Dancing with the Stars. To say nothing of enduring the vagaries of the transport team and all the bugs she would no doubt encounter en route.

Blood cultures had also been ordered and her cough was still not good. It's definitely the crud. She was a little bit worried about it - but she was keeping a stiff upper pecker about it throughout, you know her.

I know Eileen was there with her when I called (and their dinner was from a Greek restaurant - if that helps you Mo). I'm hoping she will be checking in with an on the scene report.

Joe, hope you had a good day. Once again thanks for all you do.

Chizzie, I'm hoping your night goes well. Stay centered. Stay strong. Know that we are all out here pulling for you.

I love you - K

Hi Deb- I've had that crud this week also, friend's need to share, right. I actually had to break down and see a doc- the cough was killing me and driving everyone at work crazy also. I do seem to be on the mend and I hope you will be also. So glad you were able to have company today, I'm sure it helps tht time pass quickly. Mo is right, we think of you all the time at work, and the docs ask about you often.
My Mom came home from the hospital yesterday. She is still pretty weak and is on o2 at home and getting nebs q4hrs. Keeping me pretty busy this week and running my Dad aroung alot also. Hopefully the o2 will not be permanent.
Rest up, keep eating and drinking and try to be merry!! Miss you alot and think of you always!!!!
Love, Holly

Good Morning Deb,
For crying out loud, wtf is this now? Enough already! I'm hoping that you were able to sleep last night...a little cough syrup with cod. would be helpful. I'm glad you've had visitors to help you pass the time and keep you company...despite the big banana suits. And eating Greek food too...not my favorite, but hope it cooperated with you. Thinking of you. Always, Kim
ps Thanks for the update Kris..much appreciated.

Hey Deb and Joe,
Just a reminder of why we love kids so much!
One stormy night a little boy asked his mother if she could sleep with him in his bed. The Mother said, "I have to sleep with your Father in our own bed dear". After a brief silent pause the little boy said, "The Big Sissy". :)
A little girl went to the barbershop with her Dad. She stood by the chair eating her favorite baked good. The Barber said, "Watch out dear, your going to get hair on your twinkie." The little girl replied, " I know, I'm also gonna get Boobs." :)
Out of the mouths of babes! Hope you get a little chuckle Deb and the laughter helps brighten your day. Hang tough! The meds will do the job! Sorry your under the weather. We love you and are praying for this time to pass quickly. Love Cathy and Artie :)

Debby and Joe,
Sorry that we haven't been chatting for the past 2 days it's due to dad having a flacid eyelid corrected with out-patient surgery. He's doing fine however & there is nothing to be concerned about. After the procedues, the surgeon said "if mom noticed that dad snores. To whit, mom said "every night; if not she thinks he is sick." The surgeon smiled & said that he snored through the entire procedure. We are sorry to read that your cold persists along with an elevated temperature. We'll have to make it a point to come to the restaurant in Lansdale with lines waiting to be served. We continue to keep you in our thoughts & prayers, Love, mom and dad

Hi Deb,
Chad finally showed me how to get into this site. Have been getting updates from the boys, but wanted to let you know, you & Joe are in my thoughts & prayers everyday. Hope your cold, cough & fever get better so you can get a good nights sleep. I'm sure that having the gal friends visit did help.

Would like to know the name of the restaurant in Lansdale. Hope you have a better night sleeping tonight,

Love,
Dick

Hello Chizzie and FOD's

Doing a quick midday post because I am thinking about you Chizzie and hoping you are well.

Tried to phone to check on you but gave up after several unsuccessful tries. Don't want to be killing Joe! If anybody has an update, could you please post? I am a fretter just like my pal Chizzie! Ha-ha.

I am also feeling a little bit like Tippi Hedren in the "Birds" because all of these big ravens, outside my office window, swooping in and out like they were getting ready to dive bomb me. Man, there have been a lot of them. Chizzie, you know what the raven means, don't you?

Well, kiddo I hope you are feeling better and that you had a good night.

I love you honey - K

P.S. Have you seen the Tippi Hedren doll? Here she is

Hope the link worked this time!

FOD's

Alright - where'd my last post go? I swear I posted an update a while ago and it is nowhere to be found. Sheesh. I'm losing it.

Fret no more, FOD's. The psychic girlfriend network is up and running.

Debbie called not too long after that last post and filled me in. She appears to be holding her own against her cold. Her rashes have developed another rash. Her fever is still running around 102, she's still coughing like a banshee but I honestly think it sounded better than it did last night.

She's exhausted and sore from fever, cough, breathing treatments etc, and so she was chilling in her bed until Joe came in. He was expected shortly.

If the other post shows up from somewhere I apologize for double posting.

Hope all is well for everyone and that our girl Debbie continues to hold her respiratory own against these nasty bugs.

Cheers.
