Emma calls a Time Out!

Dear FOD's,

Debbie had a nice weekend with her friends and family -- my parents came up on Friday night for dinner and her extended family from Easton came on Saturday, with a months worth of "good eats," followed by a night cap of best buddies and cosmos for the Oscars on Sunday. As a special surprise, Cousin Eileen came in from St. Louis on Saturday morning and stayed until Sunday evening, when Brendan. There was 2 million words, pool contests, eating contests and bowling contests! In a normal world, that would be enough -- but not here. Half way through the Oscars, Jester called and said that she was going to the hospital -- one month early. She went into the operating room @ 10:30 and we got a call at 2:30 AM to tell us that Emma had arrived. Although 1 month early she was 8 pounds and 20.5 inches long and a thriving little girl! Not too shabby for a premie!

Deb called HUP on Monday morning and explained the situation and they were more than happy for her to visit with Emma for a few days and to check in on Thursday. Of course, we took this opportunity to run down Rt. 95 and we were there by 2:00 pm on Monday afternoon. Emma is beautiful, Jester is doing very well and Debbie is on "Cloud 9." This was so good for Debbie, she could not believe it. "Gammyhood" agrees with her.

We spent the afternoon with Jester and Emma and then went back to their home and spent time with Walid and Mr. C., who was very glad to see his Gammy -- although he is not too sure about his new sister. We will be sending Emma an air helmut and keflair for her homecoming gift. She will thank us later.

I took the trains home and Deb will drive home tomorrow. The current plan is for Deb to go into HUP on Thursday. Assuming that this goes forward, we will keep you posted.

Deb sends her love to all.

Congratulations to ALL! What great news again. Since my big day was yesterday, I wish Emma could've waited one more day....thankfully she's still a Pisces, which is a good thing (depending on who you ask).
We'll be in sunny CA this weekend, so I'll be sending my good thoughts and prayers from the west coast. Good luck with this round.
Sooo very happy for you Deb, and your whole clan!
Love, Kim

Hey Deb and Joe:

Let's ride this wave through your next stay at HUP. I can't imagine how excited you all must be.

Debbie...it is more fun now to read the blogs as I now have some history on some of these characters. It makes more sense.

I am thrilled for your family on Emma's arrival. What was Jessie taking to have an 8 lb. preemie. Mere was 1 month early and she weighed 6'2oz. And she is now 5'10 1/2 inches tall...

Continue to keep your spirits up. You have a great attitude.

Filled out the papers for Mere to attend the NASC Conference at North Penn in June. She is so excited to hit Philly and NYC. A little ho hum for me when we made those trips every year to visit family.

I cruised the Fox/Prudential website to look at some time at the shore. I got to see the insides of the houses on Asbury next to the corner. Are they making a killing! (the little white one and the one next) And what a great investment. I looked at the ones for sale....Holy Cow...Joe an upgrade may be in order....TeeHee

Love you to pieces cousin! Take care in the hospital. I will talk to you before we head out next Thursday on the medical brigade.

Love...Cousin Eileen

Congratulations on becoming grandparents for the second time! Aunt Debbie, I'm sure you'll have fun shopping for Emma. Little girl clothes are soooooo cute! I'm going to be sending her the frilliest dress I can possible find! I'm happy this happened before you were admitted!

Thanks for the pictures. It was nice to see you AND Emma. You both look beautiful!

What great news! You must be sooo excited! Emma's a lucky little girl. And what a proud Grandma you must be!

I guess today's the day. Prayers continue for a speedy and effective chemo course with few side-effects. (Hopefully you'll be flying so high after your visit that you'll barely notice if you have any).

Blessings to you all and keep us posted. Looking forward to pics!
