Consolidation Chemotherapy Day 4

Deb had a very nice evening yesterday with Eileen and Beth. They ordered out to one of the local restaurants and enjoyed a carmel apple for desert. Debbie said that she actually slept last evening and she looked much more rested today.

My buddy George stopped in for a visit this afternoon on his way to his part time job at Swarthmore College. Shortly thereafter, Allie and Joey went down for a visit with some very special soft pretzels with mustard. Because of the weather today, everyone stayed inside -- but did their laps none the less. Joey called me from our favorite road while I was parking the car. Debbie had a nice afternoon of visitors today until around 7:00 PM.

I arrived shortly after 4:00 PM and we watched a movie together on Debbie's DVD machine. This machine is really amazing. It has a crystal clear picture and, with headphones, wonderful sound. We both had a set of headphones on and we laid across the bed and watched the show. It was nice to relax together, even though we didn't land in Heathrow at the end of the movie. We then did some laps, turned our noses up on the dinner again, and went downstairs to the gift shop for potatoe chips and soda. Luckily, the carmel apple fairy brought another one down today and that will probably be both dinner and dessert tonight.

Sorry to say but the rash is coming back now, there is no doubt about it. It is still a very low grade rash compared to last time, but it is spreading and itching like crazy. The nurses brought Debbie some benadryl and hopefully this will settle her down. I think that she will be OK because she is not on any antibiotics, but there is definitely a storm brewing here.

So far, we are still on track to come home on Tuesday afternoon.

Deb sends her love to all.

Hey Tek, bummer about the rash starting.. maybe it wont' be as "heated" as last time , we can hope!! Heard youve been having our weather.. it was awful here today.. in the 40's and raining.. Mark had a baseball tournament this weekend, and we only got games in yesterday!!
We are getting a new student tomorrow..little 5 year old who apparently hasn't been to school since sept.. has some speach issues, but does know how to use his middle finger and say the words that usually accompany it.. so it is going to be an interesting day...
I hope this rash stays at the hospital when you leave...your almost down to hours now before you leave.. by the way.. what movie did you and joe watch?? take care deb.. my prayers continue..mdf

Hi Deb:

You guys are making me hungry...caramel apples, soft pretzels and potato chips. Mmmmmmm!

Well sounds like bowling went much better with Bee's buddy Joe last weekend. Dave didn't even share the scoring but I know with some practice he'll be back on track.

Keeping busy as we are readying for our trip. Met with our sitter today. The boys love her and I think everyone will do well. Colin even helped me fold laundry in prepartion for me not doing his.

I can't wait to get on the plane and know that there is nothing more for me to do. I reminded Mere unlike other trips we cannot buy what we forget so take care when you pack.

Hope you have/had a restful night that is itch-free.

Take care...Love ya lots. Haven't stopped praying...COD Eileen

Thanks for the the update Joe, your postings are always appreciated. Deb sounds like she is doing good. Leave us not jump to any RASH assumptions. :)Booo! Sorry, but I guess you and your itchy friend are old adversaries by now. Hang tight!
Our youngest finally turned 21 this past week. Empty nest at last. They are on there own! God bless the children. Ryan will be a Penn State Senior in 6 weeks. Incredible!!!
How is the little chubster? How is Jess doing? Is Walid holding up? Hope all is well with you extended family.
We continue to pray and thank the good Lord for all his blessings on you Deb, and your whole family. Be in touch when you can, look forward to seeing you all soon. Love Cathy and Artie :)

Hello My Chizzie-

Back from Ohio last night and I'm hoping this finds you NOT DOING ANYTHING RASH and at HOME in the comfort of your own bed.

Ohio was...well - it was Ohio. Everyone there says hello and sends their love.

I sure hope that you are feeling okay and that this latest round of chemo has done the trick.

Hope all ROD's, COD's and FOD's
are doing well, too.

Love you honey- K

P.S. Thanks for asking Mo. I'm doing much better, it's just taking forever. Funny thing, I can't get that Oscar song out of my head, only my version goes: "It's hard out here for a GIMP." ha-ha. Glad to hear that Bob is soldiering on and that his counts are hanging tough. Hope his appt on Monday went well. love ya. K
