Second Consolidation: Day 5

Dear Fod's,

Debbie is just about done the second round of consolidation. She will receive her last two doses of chemotherapy tonight and tomorrow morning. If her fever stays below 100.5, she will be allowed to come home for Easter. Unfortunately, she has been running a fever of around 100.2 - 100.3 all day, so we are not sure where to tell the Easter bunny to go with her basket!

Maureen and I came down together and she has been visiting on 7 and I have been visiting on 6 all afternoon. Debbie is getting a unit of blood at the moment and is a little sleepy. Her counts are beginning to come down already -- which is much quicker than the last time. They are giving her the blood now so that she does not have to come back down on Monday in a panic, like we had to do a few times last week.

Debbie has been eating well this time through but still is not sleeping very well. She is anxious to get into her own bed and be in a place that someone is not walking through the door every hour. She has visited with Dr. Bob every day and it is nice that they can keep each other company.

Eileen and Marian had a nice, long visit with Debbie yesterday. Joey and Allie will be coming down later this afternoon after work.

We will post again to let you know when Debbie comes home.

Happy Easter to everyone.

Debbie sends her love to all.

Debby & Joe,
Let's hope that the fever subsides so that you can rest in your own bed & get some legitimate sleep. How can anyone rest when someone's coming & going in the room all night long? All's well here, with Grammy all prepared to "feed an army" on Sunday, & having a slightly smaller Easter Egg hunt as well. We'll be looking forward to an input saying that you're in Tennis Way with your family. Love, Mom & Dad

Hey Debbie:

Headed to the Good Friday Fish Fry at the K of C Hall. It is world renowed in my book. Aunt Angie is going with us. The boys and I hit the mall to make some returns today. They love going to Dick's Sporting Goods Store. More fishing supplies. They would make my dad proud with all thier fishing gear.

Sounds like the treatments are beginning to wear on you. Hopefully you will get a longer break before the next consolidation. I guess your visual this week is sitting in one of those uncomfortable chairs at Michael's graduation. You may want to take a cushion for your tush!

I need to send you an article from our paper. I think it will go out tomorrow so you will have a package from me early next week.

Stay cool! Happy Easter. Love, COD Eileen

Hi Chizzie-

I like that shower idea, mdf. A nice tepid shower. Thinking positive and sending you all the vibes I can muster. Bow is on her way from Ohio so she will be adding to the vibe pile. Lots of stuff going on with her as usual and I'm looking forward to her visit. I'm sure Kristine is going to want to go shopping in NYC. And I hope we can make Rice's on their way out of town, on Tuesday. They have to head back early. Boo-hoo. So we'll come up with plan b when they arrive and take it from there.

Thinking of you and hope you are on the dreaded Schuykill as we speak. Love you - K

Hello Aunt Debbie and Uncle Joe! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I LOVED the new pictures of Jess, Walid, Christian, Emma, and you! I can't believe Jess has two little ones. We sure are getting old!!!

I hope your rash goes away, your fever improves, and that you can go home to rest. Happy Easter!

Dear Deb,

I do hope this post finds you home safe and sound in your own bed. If not make the best of hanging out in HUP over Easter.
Please know that you are always in my prayers.
I spent today with Mom shopping, should have been home doing a bit for dinner tomorrow. Happy Easter from all of the Rumsey's.

Love and hugs,
jean
