We Had a Wonderful Weekend

Hello dear friends,

Just a quick note to let you know Mom and Dad are hanging in there. I brought the kids up for the weekend and Allison brought Isabelle down from New York. We were able to have a sleepover with Isabelle and the cousins had a fantastic time playing together. Mom stayed on her toes with the kiddos and maintained pace with them, breaking out the playdoh and glitter glue to keep the kids entertained for hours.

Mom continues to need platelets at least twice a week and blood typically one time per week as well. Another round of Vidaza is anticipated for the first week in February. While she tires easily, she insists having her grandbabies nearby is the absolute best medicine.

Dad just returned from Switzerland. In continuing the tradition that began when we were very small, he returned from his trip with tee shirts that reflect the country where he was working. Except that in the old days, he never brought three shirts at once - the three of us would rotate. He never went to such exotic places like Switzerland back then either. More like Detroit...or someplace in Texas.

While I was in town I read through some of the many cards you have all sent. How do you all come up with such incredibly comforting words? Please continue to pray for my parents. Your support means so much to us all.

Much love,

Jessie

Hi Jess, Debbie and Family,
Debbie, you are looking so well. It's hard to believe you have been through so much. The grandchildren are getting so big. It's amazing how quickly they grow up. I'm with Debbie, grandchildren close by are the best medicine.
Love,
Betty

So glad to see such a wonderful update. Your grandchildren are so beautiful! I agree 100% that they are the best medicine. God thinks of everything. Our second just arrived on Jan.13th. His name is Dylan Jeffrey, his big sister helped name him. Your family continues to remain in my daily prayers.

Hello, all. Thought of you all up there this weekend with the enormous amounts of snow! Jen and Thomas are snowed in also, but not as inconvenient for them. Jen bakes while Thomas shovels! I love the part of the blog about play doh. Debbie - you always let your kids play with it - I was the one that didn't bring it out often as to avoid the mess! I remember all the kids (Tessa's too) at my house in the backyard playing with it at a table with the sandbox nearby! I am so thankful you can enjoy those grandbabies! Jess - thanks for your blog! I appreciate the update and continue to pray for all of you! Love, Cheryl (Crone)

Hi Debbie,

Looks like it's going to be another beautiful day today? Although there is still snow on the ground the sunny, longer days are a sure sign spring is right around the corner. I think we are going to try to go to the shore this weekend at least for the day. Hope all is well.
Love,

hey........
we left new jersey in the snow,in virginia-the trees were budding-by georgia there were leaves and tight blossoms!!!
yesterday was the only beach day (behind a dune) and we pretended you all were there with us so the beach could heal.
sand is different but still so comforting.
and, we get sunset into the water rather than the wetlands!
thinking of you each time we step outside and hear the waves lapping.
