Sorry for the late post

Hello Loyal FODS,
Sorry about the late post but it's mike here. My mom and I could not post a blog ealier today when I was at the hospital bc the website was down. My mom looked pretty good today, much lighter then the last time i saw her. She said she weighed 191 pounds, and to my understanding she was 215 not too long ago. I guess the lax's worked pretty well, good prep for me and joe's next bodybuilding contest :) Her ANC was 680 and the white count was .8. The anc fluctuation is normal according the doctors and gives evidence that the recent jump was not a fluke. The cat scan yesterday showed fluid near my moms hear, paricardioeffusion, and fluid near the base of her lungs, bipluraleffusion. She had an ecocardiogram today and that showed no signs of problems. I think this is why she still uses the oxygen because her capillaries in her lungs just can't fill with enough oxygen. Her womanly problems continue and thats enough on that subject. Her back pain was ok while i was there, but there were two occasions where she yelped. She still wouldnt use the pain pump, but me and joe encouraged her to use as we were leaving. Within minutes she was dozing off to sleep. She still is on a heavy dose of pain medicine, valium every 6 hours and still the dilauded. She said she did not get to rest very much during the day because people were in and out of the room. Shes pretty amped about coming home and is already giving orders about cleaning our rooms. Reminded me of when i was a kid, but this time i don't think im gonna be able to sneak out of it. Tomorrow she will be taken off the IV antibiotics and switched to oral dosages to see what happens before she comes home. Sorry if this is a little loopy but the vic's for my knee are kicking in and im winding down myself. Hope this fills you all in enough until she can dictate her blog tomorrow. She sends her love to you all.

Love you guys,
Mike

Deb:

Glad to hear you are doing better today despite the fluid around the heart. What haven't you experienced on this go round? I am thinking you are the person who they write all the possible side effects of prescriptions from.

All is quiet here. Big game on Friday against Washington High. Hopefully we can redeem the loses of the Freshman and the JV squads to this school.

Hope that the oral antibiotics are a smooth transition and you can head back to Lansdale soon.

Thanks for the update Mike. You take care as well.

Love to all...COD Eileen

Deb,

Glad to hear your fellas were w/ you tonight. Things sound a little better. Hope you're feeling better though. You are always in my thoughts and prayers. I miss you so much. Please, if there's anything I can do to help the guys get ready...I am home till next Tuesday and things are quiet here right now(I'm knocking on the wooden desk as I write that). I'm praying that everything stays on track for you to get outta dodge as scheduled.

I love you, Mo

PS, Michael, aside from divulging your Moms' weight,(some things are sacred, ya know) you wrote a great blog!!!

Oh, Mike, thanks so much for writing for mom. So sorry for your problems. I hope therapy works for you. Deb, I just knew you would head upward -- it's just a matter of a little more time. You continue to inspire me. You are a patient person (at least you always were to me). Stay comfortable and know we all love you! Love, Cheryl (Crone)

Hi Deb- Glad to hear you are headed back to Tennis Way. You must be so excited to get home, I bet you can't wait to soak in your tub again!!! I hope your counts keep heading in the right direction. If there is anything we can do to lend a hand, please, please let us know.
All is quiet around here. Our new full-time OR nurse starts tomorrow at MSC. Her name is Holly- hope I'll still be Holly #1- time will tell.
The girls are good- Nicole is crazy busy, Morgan seems to like law school and Kate is busy with school and her new boyfriend. She informed me she is bringing him here for dinner Sat. night. Could you get home a liitle sooner and cook one of your great meals- you know how I love entertaining-yuk!!! You are so good at it and I basically stink at it!!
Well I better hit the sack, I'm doing the early shift tomorrow. Hope you are fast asleep, dreaming of being home. Miss you lots.
Love, Holly

Hopefully the fluid around the lungs and heart will be vanishing with these antibiotics..and that back pain, i must admit, is a bitch! (sorry non swearing fods).. but i had it the other day.. you bend over to tie a kindergardners' shoe, and WHAMMO your whole body just freezes with pain.. so feel for you there..
Now this weight thing...alot, is probably the fluid your retaining around the organs.. Reminded me of when i joined weight watchers(the first time) and they asked "why did you join?'" and i replied that while watching the football players state thier name, college, and ht/wt. i thought.. " oh sh**, i could be a linebacker for USC now!"..
Deb.. 4 1/2 days.. keeping the prayers going.. love you.. mdf

It's about 12:30am now, and I am cleaning the kitchen. It's not an act of kindness, but an act of thinking of you Debbie. Wish I could be there to help clean for your arrival home.
Hope you have a pain free restful night. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Great job, Mike. You Teklits' have become such a computer savvy family in such a short time. Those four years at Penn State were well worth the money!

Glad to hear Mom is looking better, can't wait to have a cup of tea with her at home. That would be an answer to my prayers.

Love,
Cathy

good morning deb,

thinking of you today. the weather will be perfect to welcome you home, casey will be wiggling all around to greet you as well. i loved the blogger who wrote that your weight was fluid and hers was chocolate! such clever minds. my weight is post partum! xoxoxoxoxo
jeez, i was thinking that casey will have to take a nap in order to greet you. discharge on 'hup time' as joe calls it, will have you coming home in the middle of oprah! who, by the way we are NOT talking to her anymore. she never blogs. and i thought she was our 'girlfriend' not buying her dumb magazine anymore either.

thinking of you from the top of you head down to your pedicured toes....xo

Good morning Debbie,

It's count down time .... counting the days watching the counts... I am starting to get excited at you going home, literally waking up saying that's another night over with for Debbie.

Last night I had 15 women over from our "First Mates" club...we live in a neighborhood on the water hence the boat reference.. I like to refer to us as the Desperate Housewives ! Basically we act as hospitality for new neighbors, people who are sick etc. What I love about the group is we take care of business really quickly at our meetings, always have volunteers for everything and then the fun begins.. all are wine drinkers.. I tell you.. what a night of chatter by the pool in the Fall air. I thought of you Debbie as I prepared the munchies and decorated the table with flowers and candles.. I said, Debbie would love this. So last night with all the chatter of these powerful women I imagined it was all the FODs... and pictured you pain free enjoying all there company.

Still praying, back to singing like a lark (all be it a hung over lark!) for you. I'll let you know what's on Oprah on Monday... xo... I get e-mails from my "girlfriend" Oprah every day! I'll have to let her know she needs to blog lol!

Lots & lots of love, visitor alison.

Debbie & Joe,
We were delighted to see the increased wbc & ANC counts in the past few days, & hopefully, you're on your way to a full recovery. Tennis Way, here we come!! We're not overly concerned about Debbie's weight because once the fluids are gone, she'll be in clothing sizes she's not been in since eons ago. Let's hope that whatever is causing the back aches goes away, & stays away!! Hopefully the staff is busily preparing some instructions/concerns for your coming home next week. That must be placing enormous concerns onto all of you to be sure that the home is prepared for whatever you may need. We've also been wondering how Mike's getting along with a torn ACL. It must be difficult for him & we appreciate his posting the latest blog. You all remain in our thoughts & prayers, Love, Mom & Dad.
